Lord.
One of the best romcom manga I've read this year is some shit called "Molester Man." Why.
Straight up amazing character writing, with some of the most honestly real characters I've ever seen. The story is presented as if it was based on a real story, and while I highly doubt that it is real, you can't help but feel a sense of reality reflected in the characters.
The story is inspired from a real... 2chan thread. We actually see the MC post in this thread regularly throughout the story. The MC is, honestly, a loser, but he's able to sober and mature up just a bit. He doesn't become some, hyper-social godly hero at the end. He just changes to be a bit better, for the sake of the people he loves. And that's beautiful to me. This isn't even talking about the actual romantic interest[s] (it's complicated) in the story, which asdojiavjodas.
Molester Man is not one of those genre defining titles, but it is, in my mind, far more than a simple joyride.
