My mother in law (who lives in Romania) is coming to stay this year to meet her granddaughter, my daughter. And she's bought her some earrings, which is lovely. But now she won't stop pushing me to get my girl's ears pierced. She's not even two months old yet - aside from the fact that I don't know anywhere that will even pierce a tiny baby's ears, I don't WANT her ears pierced yet. I've already explained this and flat out refused. I just feel that she's way too young and it will hurt her ... I was 5 years old when I had mine, but my husbands mother insists it's better now because she won't remember the pain and she HAS to have them done. I'm so angry and upset, and my husband won't see it from my point of view. But I'm sticking to what I say - I'm not putting my daughter through unnecessary pain when it can wait until she's older and has a choice. Am I wrong in thinking/saying this?
