Okay, I say this with a heavy heart

I don't think I'm going to be updating MGS much if at all until I can see Iron Lung again.

I 100% thought I would be fine (normally the hyperfixation stops the isssues with only seeing a film once) but unfortunately my brain is currently holding to many that aren't Iron Lung at once and my memory has been so shit that I genuinely can barely remember the plot of my own fic despite writing it not long ago, much less the events of 2-3 months ago when I saw the movie.

It is IN NO WAY abandoned and I do hope to update, it's mostly that it's so hard rn to even keep the plot of the fic itself straight (despite multiple rereads of my own fic and consuming as much fandom content about Iron Lung as I can) that trying to reach for anything from canon (and therefore basic world building, personalities to not feel off, etc) is almost impossible.

I ADORE this fic, and that's part of the reason I'm going to take a break on it for a bit- either until my memory lets me actually remember shit about this or until the movie comes out on DVD/Blue-Ray. I don't want to progress a story I love based on half remembered memories of a plan, the base movie, and the fic I'm continuing.

I'm definitely still going to be writing (again, part of the issue is that the current hyperfixations (yes, unfortunately there seems to be more then 1) keep taking up all the other room in my brain), one of the reasons I did that poll about MHA fics, just not MGS.

Again, "Machine Gun Sun" is NOT in any way discontinued, it is just on hiatus.

I'm so genuinely sorry to the people who've been patiently waiting for updates, your support genuinely means the WOLRD to me that you've stuck around and enjoyed. I hope you can wait a bit longer, I know that its been annoying and I'm grateful for you patience.

Hit the stage of struggling to write a ch where I'm pretty sure my idea for it just isn't working. Which is annoying because I was half done, but it's getting to the point where I genuinely hate it ;-;

This may be due to my current mental state/morbid hyperfixations for AUs rn and not feeling up to writing mundane stuff.

Which means instead of ch 8 being a lead up to Eden stuff, I'm just going fast track it- which doesn't mean a decrease in quality, it means I'm just going to go back and completely re plot ch 8/9/10 (why i don't plot whole fics at once lol)

Posting this because that unfortunately means this damn ch is going to take even longer -_-

(I love writing, I love the readers of Mgs- you guys are great, and I love MGS. I just also hate giving deadlines and then NOT meeting said deadlines by a fucking week ;-; /frustrated with myself)

Either way, I hope to get this ch done soon ;-;

I have successfully found my lore doc for MGS! Reminder kids: name your documents because if you don’t they fall into the abyss of your drive never to be seen again

This also means I gotta go through the characters in MGS to make sure I get their characterization right (meaning a re-read and notes for the fic), but! because I now have my lore doc (which is pretty much all my ideas for MGS, what I remembered about Iron Lung, and other important things for the fic) and I apparently did plot up to ch 12 last time I sat down to do it, I can actually get back to work on getting at least another ch out!
