Today I endeavor to answer one simple question: How would the child units from Fire Emblem Awakening react to having sand thrown at their eyes?
I’m going to go through everyone in the order you encounter them, but with two exceptions. I want to start with a couple of characters who’s reactions I think can ground us. They are our baselines.
Cynthia: If you got sand in her eyes, she would fall to the ground, screaming and crying. She would then most likely roll back and forth while continuing to scream and cry. If you have ever seen anyone get sand or hot sauce in their eyes in a cartoon, please conjure that image
Kjelle: Kjelle may have trained to be an excellent soldier, but I don’t think she’s trained to handle sand in her eyes. As soon as she is blinded, she immediately starts swinging whatever weapon she has as wildly as possible. Friendly fire is turned on, and you best pray that you are not within 5 meters of her
With the two baselines out of the way, we can go to all the other kiddos.
Lucina: Now you may think that having a mask on would prevent you from getting sand in your eyes. Unless that mask has literally no eye holes, you thought wrong. Those slits for her to see out of make the perfect channels to send sand straight into her eyes. You don’t even have to aim that hard. And once she gets sand in her eyes, she is flailing just as wildly as Kjelle. She may be able to change her fate, but she cannot change the fact that there will be sand in her eyes
Owain: Owain will fall to the ground and roll around like Cynthia even if you miss. He doesn’t really care all that much if he gets sand in his eyes so long as he gets to roleplay.
Inigo: He falls to the ground but in a flirty, maybe even a little sexy (?) kind of way. His eyes are in horrendous pain, though. If you’re a lady he’ll tough it out, just for you. Frankly if you want to incapacitate Inigo, you’re better off calling him an incel.
Brady: When you throw sand in Brady’s eyes, he goes, “Oh, God, what the fuck!?” and then starts crying. He’s not crying because of the sand. He’s crying because you startled him and hurt his feelings by throwing sand in his eyes. He’s a sensitive soul, why would you do that?
Severa: Similarly to Brady, she shouts, “Oh, God, what the fuck!?” when you throw sand in her eyes. She then demands that someone around her get her a warm towel to wipe out her eyes with. She’s incapacitated, but only because she refuses to move from her spot until someone helps her
Gerome: Gerome learned nothing from Lucina, because this stupid dumb idiot is wearing a mask. He was smart enough to have a backup plan, though, in the form of Minervykins. If you throw sand in Gerome’s eyes, Minerva will kill you. If you throw sand in Minerva’s eyes, Gerome will kill you. If you throw it in both of their eyes, though, Gerome is instantly stunned due to his mask and Minerva starts rampaging. If Gerome is still on her, she will probably roll over in a rage, crushing him. Gerome is dead.
The Morgans: The Morgans are dangerous because there is a high probability that if you throw sand at them, they will just catch all of it in their mouths and eat it. If you do manage to get it in their eyes, however, male Morgan will fall to the ground and roll around while female Morgan will start blasting more thorons than her father in Smash Bros.
Yarne: If you get sand in Yarne’s eyes, he will start screaming and crying about the extinction of the taguel until he realizes that it was just sand. Then he’ll get real embarassed. This will work no matter how many times you throw sand at him.
Laurent: This man was lost in a desert for like 5 years. He is immune to sand. If you throw it at him, he will just stare at you, unblinking.
Noire: The first time you get the sand in her eyes, she is totally incapacitated. She is rolling around right next to Cynthia, perfectly matching the speed and length of her rolls. Every time after that though, it’s all “Blood and Thunder.” She will use the power of echolocation to find anything that moves and immediately send a volley of arrows its way. Neither friend nor foe can escape her wrath
Nah: Nah gives the classic “Oh, God, what the fuck!?” but she also turns into a dragon and starts blindly rampaging everywhere. This offers the highest ratio of property damage to sand
So what have we learned? Don’t throw sand at mages. Mages have always had advantages in desert maps, and that advantage extends to if they have sand thrown in their eyes as well
Happy birthday Takumi - Love Yume, Kiragi & Alon
It’s takumi’s birthday and that means obligatory birthday art, didn’t have much time so it became a family moment with the birthday boi
Because I got bored and adore these three. Have some Azura! Dwyer, Corrin! Caedori, and Subaki! Kana. Based off the conversation beeeen Caeldori and Dwyer in their C Support-
Tweaked their outfits a little. Butler and Nohr Noble. Sky Knight is pretty much the same. I’m always marrying Dwyer and Caeldori together XD they’re adorable
Specific Fatesona pairing children
Hey guys ~ !!! I just wanted to know if any of you guys are interested in making pairing-specific child units with any of my fatesonas !!! QwQ I absolutely adore making baby units and would love to collab
What I want to see in the next Fire Emblem game
No not Heroes, Nope, not Warriors, No, not Echoes, I mean, the next new installment they’re gonna have…. in 2018
I know it’s too early to tell, but i’ve basically made up my mind about this since I finished(LOL!) Fates.
•Everyone supports Everyone. I’m pretty much through with this Avatar-sexual nonsense. Using Shura and Scarlet made me realize that they had potential for some really interesting conversations but nope, couldn’t be bothered to write them all in and that just doesn’t make sense to me. Also, they are really good units so it's like,"i can only take full advantage of your ability when i pair my avatar up with you."
•Canon pairings. Yes, this means there are some people the avatar can’t marry! I know some people may disagree with this, but I feel it would be interesting. We’ve had two games where the Avatar could support anybody, even people like Gunter, Fuga and Yukimura who just don’t make sense. But anyway, I think canon pairings would add an interesting feel to certain characters and might even help develop them more if done right. I know this is dangerous too cuz it might lead them to do bad things with it or it might be too corny but again, if implemented right i think it’d be cool. This fixes things like Sumia being the obvious mother for Lucina as per opening and in game cutscenes and yet, you can ignore that. Then why bother IntSys?"
•Send the children on vacation. Look, I know you like the kid mechanic IntSys but honestly, we’re getting tired of it. Its ok to skip out on them and bring them back once you’ve figured out a way to reintroduced them.
•Cameo appearances. Yup, it’s ok to give people what they want and use popularity contest winners to draw sales to the games but, can you please make them come back in a way you can actually explain? Thank you! I get that people love Laslow, Selena and Odin, but who here can explain their presence in this Fates Universe without running into a plot hole? Yup,. So I think that an easy way to bring Oboro and Jakob(?) - see i really don't think they'll use the royals, as much as i love Leo. - would be to have them appear AS OBORO AND JAKOB maybe the new game takes place in the same universe but in a kingdom that is not Nohr or Hoshido! That way IntSys can even get away with referencing Leo and Camilla and whoever else was high up there without bringing hem into the scene. IntSys can do this for virtually any previous game!.
•On the Avatar. Look, it honestly makes no difference to me whether we have one or not. I would miss customizing their appearance, name and voice, but since their character development still falls outside of my control, i might as well be given character with default name and appearance and call it the avatar. "Oh but it wouldn't really be you cuz you don't get to pick class and strengths and weaknesses" Well we had AT LEAST 12 games where we couldn't do that and here we stand.
•A good old conflict of interests without shady behind the scenes supernatural beings controlling everything. Anankos, you had great potential, but once again, no. I saw someone comment on a post once saying that even tho they enjoyed Awakening and Fates, the next Fire Emblem game should have human enemies exclusively and I concur. Risen and Faceless, you were fun, but it's about time we call it quits for you guys. I highly doubt IntSys will get rid of this type of enemy but I still think it'd be great to have a story with less supernatural elements? Just cuz especially with Fates I think that a lot was sacrificed in order to introduce and justify Valla's existence.
What if Greninja and Chesnaught (and probably in your case, Machamp and Alakazam) go through some probably FE stuff and are actually those Pokemon from that combusken x frogadier universe?
…Are you talking about having child units? Because I made a post based on that concept at some point last year:
http://echoeternally.tumblr.com/post/140377855474/if-my-pokemons-had-kids
Basic idea that I made up a while back if characters in my series ever had kids, which is non-canon. A fun idea, though, so there was that.
If you’re talking about those stories with Frogadier and Combusken that I wrote up, those are for @rott-ing-root‘s side blog, @ask-theoddfamilies. It’s a different story with similar characters. And Greninja/Chesnaught (SneakpastShipping) as one of the leading ships.
This game is perfect...
