Ready for a corny ass post? So, I've wanted to teach Kindergarten since I was in 3rd grade and admired one of my teachers dearly. I never went to school to get my teaching degree because my anxiety is so bad, school scares the shit out of me. Since I got a car, I have only worked retail jobs. From K Mart to Kohls to Macys. After I got fired from Macys, I told myself I wasn't going to settle anymore. I was going to remain unemployed until I actually got a job that I like. One that makes me feel good about myself, and gets me excited to go to. A few months ago, one of my best friends told me her work was hiring assistant teachers. That freaked me out too because I have very very minimal child care experience, and no degrees or certifications. But she reassured me that I would get the training if I got hired. A month later, I got the job. And a month into it now, I am about to have a stable position as a Pre K teacher. :) It is soooooooo much harder than I thought, but I love every one of those kids and I am so thankful that I went through all the hard shit to finally get somewhere that makes me feel proud. ❤ #dontquityourdaydream #teachersassistant #prek #prekteacher #ymca #childcaredevelopment
