“yeah–I think she picked that up from somebody’s pet dog while I was gettin’ stuff for the farm in Hensys when I was…seven? I don’t remember when she mighta picked it up.” She scrubbed the dragon’s scales with a sponge, trying to dislodge some week-old dirt. “I usually wash her once a month, ‘cause otherwise she rolls in more and more dirt.”

Evan couldn’t help but to gently chuckle at that, moving over to use the hose and begin dousing water over May’s scales, mindful of where Ella stood. “Mir liked to roll around in dirt a lot, too,” he fondly recalled; “although he was much easier to clean off, considering that he was younger then. He thinks too highly of himself now to roll around as much. That isn’t to say that he stopped doing that though; he just gets into a lot of antics on his own nowadays.”

Shaking his head slightly, the sandy blonde stopped the flow of water and put the hose down. “Maybe May is beginning to shed some old scales? Mir often complained about being itchy and usually rolled around to hasten the shedding of those old scales,” he suggested, pulling off his leather gloves before he picked up a sponge to follow Ella’s example.

“Uh, yeah. Lucia tried to explain it to me but I just got super confused.” Ella grinned. Sounded far enough… “Lucia is Luminous’ kid, so she knows all sorts of stuff about alternate dimensions and stuff.~ She said something like how we fell through a portal or something to here…”

Somehow, the idea of Luminous having a child seemed quite bizarre to Evan, but he made no comment on it. Honestly, the idea of the other heroes having kids in general just seemed weird. It wasn’t impossible, seeing that there were many iterations of the Maple World denizens, it seemed, but it was difficult for the sandy blonde to wrap his head around. Maybe because he was too worried about the upcoming war to even think about the idea of anyone having children.

“I see,” he thoughtfully hummed in response. “So you are all far away from your homes. If Lucia is Luminous’s daughter, and um...Velour, I believe was what you said, is Phantom’s daughter, then is it right for me to assume that the other heroes have a child too?” ‘Including myself, as weird as it is to think about such a thing?’
