Como pueden mujeres votar por un misógino machista? Por qué la clase obrera votarían por un explorador? Por qué estudiantes con gratuidad votarían por alguien que se las quiere quitar? Por que gente que ama a los animales y la naturaleza votaría por alguien a quien no le importa? Por que gente con hij@s votaría por alguien que aprueba eliminar la prohibición del matrimonio infantil? Por qué alguien que vivió la dictadura votaría por un pinochetista?

Tomorrow is the presidential and parliamentary elections in my country, Chile, and as expected, the situation is quite bleak.

The right wing has become a three-headed hydra, each head trying to emulate the rotten eggs of MAGA or Hispanic populism, and worship of old military dictatorships, but perhaps something that hurts even more, a left wing completely submissive to neoliberalism and the surrender of our natural resources to foreign interests and unwilling to change all the problems that are currently destroying an entire generation's future.

I beg all my brothers and sisters who read this to pray for my country, that the least despicable of the candidates will be elected, that the idolatry of Pinochet's dictatorship will remain dead and buried, that faith in the Church and Love for our Lord may once again germinate in the hearts of Chile, and that we may continue to honor the line of our anthem; "O EL ASILO CONTRA LA OPRESIÓN" (we will be the refuge against oppression)

I beg you, my Divine Lord, through the intercession of our Most Holy Lady of Mount Carmel, patron saint of our Motherland.

Okay, no suelo hacer esto pero necesito desahogarme, hoy 14 de diciembre salió presidente en mi país un hombre peligroso para los derechos humanos, se le advirtió a la gente el tipo de persona que era: homófobo, misógino, xenófobo, Nazi, pinochetista, quiere explotar a la clase obrera y los recursos naturales, no le interesa la vida de los animales, quiere eliminar la gratuidad en la educación y el ministerio de la mujer.

Mi pueblo es gente sin memoria olvidaron quienes fueron los que realmente nos lastimaron, quienes fueron los que mataron y desaparecieron a las personas en dictadura, este tipo nunca vivió el miedo de salir a la calle y que no saber si regresará a casa, nunca tuvo que ver como militares entraban a su casa y la destruían buscando algo para incriminar a su familia. Sinceramente ya no sé si considerarme chileno después de esto.
