Top 5 FE9 characters?

Yes!! My favorite game ❤️

In no particular order:

Brom wasn't a favorite of mine until I got a little older but I love him as a character. He's fun to use, I love all of his dialogue, and he only gets better in Radiant Dawn imo. Gotta love a caring dad and country bumpkin. Nephenee is up there too for similar reasons, she definitely has a cooler vibe than Brom but her dialogue is always great also.

Haar has always been a favorite of mine too. He definitely gets better in RD, but he's such a funny and interesting character. I love his design and how much you get to see from him leading up to his recruitment.

I've always had a soft spot for Rolf, I guess I tend to like the baby characters that take investment to make useful. He's got good character development as the game progresses and I just really love the sniper design when applied to him.

Is Ike a cop out? He's by far the best written Lord in the series. I love his blunt and caring attitude, his promoted art is such peak design, and he's fun to use. If I had to pick someone else it'd probably be Titania or Marcia. There's so many good characters in that game.
