So about that Wayhaught fight...

Everyone has had their theories about why Nicole acted dishonestly in 2x08, but I think we are all forgetting a really important scene from 2x05. It was the episode where they finally get rid of the goo and Nicole was protecting Gooverly from Wynonna because she thought the goo was in her. Wynonna says something really important, she says...

Nicole was about to shoot her and in that moment Nicole was full on protective girlfriend mode that she didn’t even think that Waverly could have been gooed. In other words, her love for Waverly overpowered her actions and senses in that moment. After Wynonna says that Nicole is not Waverly’s “keeper” she even says that “I know that you love her and I love her too”. Both Wynonna and Nicole love Waverly to the ends of the earth, however, Wynonna knows that she can handle herself and that she doesn’t need protecting. Nicole doesn’t take what Wynonna says to heart because she finally puts the gun down after Waverly tells her to shoot her. Nicole has shown obvious signs across many episodes that she doesn’t exactly respect Wynonna’s opinion of her. Because of this, Nicole continues to be overly protective which led to the huge misstep in the most recent episode. Nicole doesn’t want Waverly to ever be hurt and she wants to protect her whatever the cost. So she takes the DNA results and read them as her love shadows her senses. In the next few episodes I’m sure Nicole will learn what Wynonna told her all along. Nicole isn’t Waverly’s keeper and there is a point where you can overstep in a relationship. I know it sucks that we don’t have the happiest Wayhaught right now, but Emily wrote it in this way to make them more real. The LGBT community deserves to be represented, but they also deserve to be represented realistically and three dimensionally. Wayhaught will have their ups and downs, but so does any relationship and I’m glad Emily decided to incorporate characters with flaws. So everyone needs to chill because Wayhaught is beautiful. Wayhaught is canon. And most importantly Wayhaught is endgame.
