My brother stole from me and I don't know what to do

For a smidgen of context before we begin, I (c39) run a fairly successful guppy ranch in the midwest. My brother (m71), has stayed in good contact with me and my daughters over the years and visits with us every October for the "world-famous scary meal festival" we host each year. The trouble arose a few days ago, when I realized that the family cup was GONE. Nobody in the world would have taken it except him (when I was a kid he would always jeer at me and try to trick me into giving it away, but I was much too clever, ha ha).
After I realized it was missing I packed all of my daughters into the family jaloppey and drove over to his house to get it back, but he threatened to open the screen door and let all of his puppydougs rush out to attack me if I took one step on his property. As I'm writing this, we're sitting in the car outside his house and I'm at a loss for what to do. I ***NEED*** the family cup back, but I would prefer not to let a swarm of vicious puppydougs maul my beautiful daughters, tear them to smithereens, etc.
Any advice would be much appreciated, thank you in advance!
