Today I dropped off the beautiful pink princess dress and her favorite cape at the funeral home. We decided against seeing her again. Gabby’s little spirit isn’t there anymore and neither of us want to remember Gabby that way. I asked our funeral director to take a picture from a distance after she is all dressed. I just want to be sure she gets her special dress and her cape, she deserves that. Our director is very nice and is willing. It’s hard to know what the right answer is. Yesterday I pinched something in my back .. while making pans of bacon and sobbing in the kitchen. I found a chiropractor who fit me in not far from the house. My right leg was zinging and apparently everything was knotted up and tight (stress sucks). I told Paul he needs to get in too, ASAP, because he is also a stress case. Many of the scrapbook pages I had printed arrived yesterday. It was a reminder of all the amazing adventures we’ve had together. This afternoon Gabby had a massive heart attack and gained a pair of angel wings. She fought hard to the very last moment, she loved her life and her family. Its as if a bright light went out. We cannot bear to think of a life without her, but we are so very grateful we were lucky enough to be her parents. Without our outgoing, feisty girl life will never be the same. We were planning for kindergarten and are heartbroken to be planning a cremation instead. Words cannot express the grief we are feeling right now. We’d like Gabby to be remembered as the fun, exuberant bubbly (and terribly stubborn) child she was. Her favorite color was pink and her room is a wild pink with flamingos everywhere. She did nearly everything at a full out run. Her zest for life was contagious. We will forever cherish the time Make a Wish gave us with her in January at Disney World. Her wish was to meet Mikey, it was really the most extraordinary trip. Thank you for your support, kind words and prayers.
