Has anyone else just said “Fuck meta” and moved to Rednote? It’s pretty cool over there and I plan on staying until the US government finds a way to fuck that up too (which I highly doubt) but I was just asking myself, I know a lot of people are deactivating and deleting their meta accounts and apps because of how they lobbied hard to get TikTok banned but how long can we really go without Meta apps? There’s really no good alternatives and the fediverse isn’t really that popular yet. So how long until people start crawling back to Meta? Unless we find foreign alternatives that blow up like Rednote did.
I want to go on Xiaohongshu but I’m afraid they’ll think i’m from TikTok… No, i’m just an artist and writer xD
ITS GONE TIKTOK IS GONE
#TikTok
… and not even 24 hours later it is apparently working again. For how long? 🤷🏼♀️
Just go to chineseffect.com and experience it for yourself. :)
It is as simple as that.
MANDARIN CHINESE APP RECCOMENDATIONS
Last night I was doing some searching and I found two really good apps that I’ve never seen mentioned!
The first one is for learning HSK vocabulary. You may be the type of person that likes to use index cards to test yourself but I personally like testing myself and this app does that. They have one for every level I’m pretty sure and it helps you learn your vocabulary. As you move on with the levels it retests your previous learned vocab and gives listening practice.
**This one costs $1.99
This app is one of the better character recognition apps and is cheaper than the ones I have seen. It works pretty well and is worth the money. It does have some minor issues but it is useful and better than switching to the handwriting keyboard.
i know i’ve talked briefly about the dictionary apps i use most often, but it’s been awhile since i made those posts so i decided to update the list and give more detailed accounts about each dictionary i have on my phone
it’s pretty long so i put it under a cut
Simple app for learning basic principles of writing characters. Download HERE: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.molatra.chinesewriterlite&hl...
I was just doing research on apps that teach Chinese.
Some of them are pretty cool.
This one teaches you the principles of writing characters in a fun way.
