Mandarin really popped off with 了
27/07/2026 黑夜告白 / Light to the Night (2026)
it's been so long since i watched any cdrama or any mandarin input like in forever (more than a year i think) so today i decided to start w this one
Ive only watched the first ep but it seemed entertaining and kinda on the fun/light mystery side without romance (i do not like any cdrama w romance, they lean too much into tropes and i feel like it is too cringey for me).
on the other hand it seems like the timeline is in the 90s which makes me wonder about the lnguage, like am i listening to not currently used vocab? Are they disregarding that? Since i have a very low level in the language and i wanna learn it, that is a worry what it comes to mind, like should i be watching tv shows that are in our currently timeline around the 2020s? But most of them are romantics shows so i do not want to watch those...
Do you hve any cdrama recs?
Ok yeah, my 2nd hsk3 mock was a 91% even tho I'm dead tired. Maybe I'll schedule the actual thing earlier than the original plan of fall this year.
“Transliterating into the Latin alphabet is an imprecise method, since not all sounds match the alphabet. Some are more intuitive for the new alphabet while others match the original sounds better”
Yeah ok, that makes sense
“I use numbers to indicate tone when transliterating Chinese”
What the fuck
I booked a Mandarin lesson on italki today! <3
