This Five Spice Stir Fry Chicken with Mushrooms is a delicious Chinese-inspired dish that's quick and easy to make. The five spice powder adds a unique flavor to the savory sauce, making it a flavorful and satisfying meal.
Ingredients: 500g chicken breast, thinly sliced. 200g mushrooms, sliced. 1 tablespoon vegetable oil. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 1 teaspoon five spice powder. 1/4 cup soy sauce. 2 tablespoons oyster sauce. 1 tablespoon honey. 1/2 cup chicken broth. 2 green onions, chopped. Salt and pepper to taste.
Instructions: Combine the five spice powder, honey, oyster sauce, and soy sauce in a bowl. Put aside. In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over high heat. Add the chicken slices and minced garlic. Stir-fry the chicken for 34 minutes, or until it's thoroughly cooked. Take out and place aside the chicken from the skillet. Add the sliced mushrooms to the same skillet and stir-fry them for two to three minutes, or until they begin to brown. After cooking, add the chicken back to the skillet. Add chicken broth and soy sauce mixture. Stir-fry the chicken and mushrooms for a further two to three minutes so that the sauce thickens and coats them. To taste, add salt and pepper for seasoning. Right before serving, add the chopped green onions and stir. Serve hot with noodles or steamed rice.
