Day 77: in the Port of Phu My, Vietnam.
Hi chi Minh City is the largest city in Vietnam and is located near the Mekong Delta. Under the name, PreyNokor, it was the main Port of Cambodia, before being annexed in the Vietnamese in the 17th century. Under the name Saigon, it was the capital of the French colony of Cochinchina, and later of the independent estate of South Vietnam from 1954 to 1975. In 1975 Saigon was merged with the surrounding province of Gia Dinh and renamed Ho Chi Minh City after revolutionary leader Ho Chi Minh (although the name of Saigon is still widely used). The city has transformed from what was once an impoverished war-devastated peasant society into a modern city with a thriving commercial culture, although they are still not fully recovered and poverty is still an issue.

Day 88: in the Port of of Penang. Penang is the second smallest state in Malaysia. Old Penang evoked images of the slow-paced lifestyle of merchants and planters in the Far East, where European culture intermingled with Eastern Customs , colonial buildings stood next to attap houses and rickshaw pullers and where electric trams met bullock carts. Penang’s capital is George Town, which combines endless rows of 100 year-old shophouses and colonial villas with priceless architecture centres to give the distinctive atmosphere that is so alluring to tourists, as well as tempting many film directors to use it as a venue for blockbuster movies such as “Anna and the King” and “Indochine”. 🏞: Seh Tek Tong Cheah Kongsi (1810 Temple built by an ancestral clan featuring ornate Chinese design). _____________________________________ Tags: #malaysia #penang #georgetown #kongsi #temple #chinese #chinesetemple #ancestral #cheahkongsi #sehtektongcheahkongsi #aroundtheworld #worldvoyage #asia #culture #worldcruise #cunard #cunardline (at George Town, Malaysia)
