I am a van lifer and @progressive just cancelled my insurance and won't cover my #ToyotaBandit because my vehicle is only eligible for full timer motor home insurance if it has a kitchen & running water/toilet and I have an additional driving vehicle. So basically, they don't cover full time vanners. My question to them was how does such a large insurance company not cover full time van lifers when we're such an increasing lifestyle segment that is growing in popularity? The response?? "We just haven't caught up with the times yet." That doesn't sound very #progressive to me. So I'm taking to my family of social media van lifers and asking to voice your opinion on this matter. Also, who insures your van? "Every now and then I get a little bit restless and I dream of something wild." - Bonnie Tyler Every now and then, I have a need to be in a bigger city, where life seems more like "real life". I'll work, organize my things, do laundry, run errands, meet up with friends and make new friends. It's all positive and lovely but as our departure for the Pacific Northwest grew closer and life/work things caused delays, @lookatthatwesty, @sarah_a_ferguson and I grew restless. We all stopped at least once, amidst the whirlwind of stress that was the few days prior to departure, to mention how manic our energy felt with the need to get back out on the road. Once our rubber hit the road, it felt like all that fell apart, instantly came back together. Our stress and heaviness flew out our open windows. Our heavy eyes began to grow wide & sparkle with the reflection of snow topped mountains glowing with bright yellow aspens. Our resting bitch faces were totally eclipsed by smiles & giggles. Our pace slowed taking scenic routes through the high desert mountains. Although, I'm not to sure Dakota will ever be okay with that slower pace part. #4cylinderlife It felt like we were home. While I live in my car, Dakota has a home and Sarah calls New Zealand home but we all share the feeling of the road being our real home and we're not alone. There's a whole bunch of us out there that feel like "real life" isn't what we were cut out for and that there is some other life we were meant to live, with another home and another family.
