I lowkey ship Mathilde and Chip.
Like I love Chip's devotion to his wife. I know Mathilde is Ace/Aro and is 200% content in his life. In canon it could never happen.
But.. I also kinda like the idea that maybe 5-10 years after a successful version of their adventure, after Chip has time to mourn Carol properly and Mathilde and him get closer, that maybe the two give each other a chance. That maybe Mathilde feels something new and is open to trying the experience. That its a true slowburn friends to lovers situation. That the two lost and gained a lot on that adventure, a daughter figure in Elga, their pets get along... maybe this could work out.
Its just a nice little thought I thought was cute and respectfully understand it will never happen in canon.
He is so happy to have food !!!!!
