Chitose-kun wa Ramune Bin no Naka (Chitose Is in the Ramune Bottle) Key Visual
“The truly good people are the ones who are never sure they’re good enough” Really cool episode because we get to see how the girls aren’t just pretty accessories to Chitose’s story, but actually important parts of his life who he can turn to for emotional support when he’s struggling, like with Kenta. Whether it’s Haru playing around at the park, or he and Nanase teasing each other on the phone, or Yuko there at the end reassuring him that he’s on the right path, they all have a part to play and he wouldn’t be the person he is without the people in his life.
This episode, and arc as a whole, have been as much of a boost for Saku as it has for Kenta. It’s a reaffirmation that his methods work and that his efforts are genuine. Kenta is obviously in a really sensitive place right now and he’s still learning to trust others, but no doubt Saku has done a good thing. Just the fact Kenta thinks he can handle his old friend group on his own shows how much he’s grown. Whether or not that’s the case.. well we’ll find out next week for volume 1’s awesome conclusion.
How tf you gonna gatekeep someone else friend group that you’re not even in yourself lmao?? That Atomu classroom scene was so cringe man. Just say you have a crush on Saku yourself and call it a day dude. Insulting Kenta and acting like he’s a clout chaser for being friends with someone is bonkers.
It’s too bad we know the sporty fun girls never win because Haru is such a sweetheart for helping Saku regain some confidence and keeping him grounded. Love how she just helps get his mind off things for a little.
That Nanase phone convo omg?? Hasegawa Ikumi doing a great job voicing her and hinting at her own insecurities and issues that we’ll deal with in her arc, while still providing emotional support for Saku and cheering him up. After Asuka she’s my fave girl and their convos are always so fun and playful.
Football match went about as we’d expect, but that monkey, chimpanzee celebration is fucking killing me man
And we end with some absolutely gorgeous shots of Yuko, she is so beautiful and gave Chitose arguably the best advice of the episode. Just the fact he’s doing all this worrying about Kenta shows how good a person he is. He’s already helped Kenta come so far, now it’s up to him to get over that last jump. Cannot wait to see it next week.

She remains pretty and my favourite. Rest of the episode, eh. They had to make Kenta's bullies so comically extreme to emphasise his growth, but then undercut it by having Chitose save him in the end anyway. I used the word "elementary" last episode and that still feels like it holds true. At the very least his arc is done now though so I'm a little more hopeful for what's to come.
