One more drawing from Fandom Kombat (a counterpart to the Fandom Battle on diary.ru) I made for the amazing Star Wars Darkside team I adore.
It’s called "To defeat an enemy, you must know their art", and it depicts a crossdressed (almost fem(!)) Thrawn.
It’s an illustration to a bizarre and hilarious plot bunny of an AU, where young Thrawn got an undercover job at a brothel, where he was made to wear a black female kimono with cherry blossoms embroidery. This AU is a local meme of a Russian-speaking SW fandom. As I was late for a low-rating level entry, I added a few non-human shaped sex toys to the background.
I had a dilemma on whether to pursue portrait resemblance of the painting Thrawn to the cartoon or follow the Japanese canon of depiction of young beautiful men, which obviously had very little to do with Thrawn we know - one can hardly tell a man from a woman on those prints.
I decided that real life Thrawn with his understanding of art would have appreciated a version that sacrificed realism for the sake of artistic accuracy.
So I have thoroughly followed all the stylistic conventions, and drew Thrawn enjoying this role: in my vision, he viewed the whole plot bunny scenario as a game and an opportunity to better experience the culture he’d been submerged into, hence the name of the drawing.
Yet I was expecting a bunch of "This ain’t Thrawn!" offended comments and even thought of making a bet on how soon the first one would arrive. It’s strange, but I only got one.
This is the third drawing in my own rendering of the “Star Wars meets ukiyo-e” concept. I drew a low-rating reylo, and a NSFW kylux.
