Lucky Cyan's arc is like. What if hope transcends death? What if the power of love is real? What if love could save one person and thus save everyone? Cookie has a mix of Moderator* genes- mods being a bonus human species made as peacekeepers, aka defund the police by pouring all that money into another Expensive Solution

*Cookie is from a batch of Maudines tho, aka a big ol clan of rogue moderators whose now unregulated gene tweakery goes a little wild in range. See cookie looking very average compared to say, their 6 limbed shrimp shaped spider ‘cousin’ in charge of the clown kitchen. Did I mention the maudines are also a traveling circus/club, look there’s a lot of background

Croc in particular is a disaster of a Designer Baby…she’s got her cute little ‘clown’ spots and fashionable white hair but she’s also an Oopsie case of “oh no we accidentally made this kid an obligate carnivore” which takes a lot of. Effort. to somewhat correct. Which even in Sci-fi land has only brought her down to about a dog’s level of omnivorous.

So fun fact she has quite a lot of raw meat in her diet and is also lactose intolerant

Oh gosh, I kind of never do? But then you asked this and I thought hmm maybe I'll do one? I don't like finding face claims bc my brain isn't usually that specific about faces, but I keep meaning to figure out how to use picrew, so here's what I ended up with! The problem is Picrew makes him look baby even after I found one where I could get the range of emotions/gender markers I wanted?

This is Oswin, but imagine he looks 32 instead of optimistically 22. Bags under his eyes are deeper, bruises are darker, lines around the eyes, clear vibe of "my hair is like this because I didn't keep on top of haircuts" instead of "I'm cute with cute hair." That sounds kind of negative but I really DID like this picrew, it's just the genre of picrew as a category doesn't really fit "tired 30-something." Oswin's not much past 30, but he's also not under it.

And I said I didn't do face claims but actually I realized I DO know what the captain looks like, sort of, a bit? It's James Morris as Claggart in the Benjamin Britten opera Billy Budd in the Met telecast for PBS from 1997, but specifically exactly that. And it's possible that it's not what he looks like but it is the Vibe and he's like... close enough?? Idk I feel I am answering this question poorly and should maybe have waited to answer until tomorrow when I will have taken my ADHD meds again instead of writing a million random thoughts in the time after my meds have worn off but C'EST LA VIE, here's the captain:

Starting at like 1:22 is probably most helpful? Anyway, the captain's hair is shorter and more policey and he's a little bit more obviously muscular/threatening, but basically I had this opera on in the background when I wrote one of the early parts and Claggart is just so EVIL?? And that sort of became part of the captain?? But again, to be clear, not all of James Morris at all times, because he seems lovely or at least, like, fine?? I don't know that much about him?? I've also watched video of him doing "Wotan's Farewell" from Wagner's Die Walkure, and it was great and made me tear up a little?? But also this particular performance and this particular aria and particularly the bit starting at like 1:22 are Big Vibes for writing this series so I guess Claggart is the Captain now, a job he does not have on the ship in the opera because it is instead captained by a good man. Kind of. Everybody says. There's also a part in the opera where this kid got whipped and the other sailors bring him back up on deck and are like "hey Claggart-boss he got the exact number of lashes you said and now he can't walk?" and Claggart's like "then let him crawl" so that's just a fact you should know about the Vibe of this character.

I keep thinking of fic ideas where Audrey ends up in the worst possible relationship misunderstandings just because I think the Jewel of Backlund accidentally fake dating the worst possible men (in the pov of others) would be funny as hell. For your consideration:

Who was it on here that said Suo is never living this down like 20 years in the future because he fr is NEVERRRRR living this down, Sakura is going to be like remember the time Suo tried to fistfight NIREI to get us all to hate him and like what's Suo gonna say to that. He did do that. He's the only one who's tried to fight Nirei like that. He has in fact left behind a legacy and it is not the legacy he wants but maybe he shouldn't have tried to fistfight Nirei when they were 15 hmmmm

Anyway with the new knowledge that Shang Qinghua (whose og name was Xiang Fei if you haven't read the new extras yet) was 1) handsome in a "melodramatic teen novel" way and 2) went to the same university as Shen Yuan I KNOW these two would have had a dog blood bl romance. Just imagine all the crazy rich/poor romantic dramas out there and that's what modern no transmigration Cucumberplane would have been. Shen Yuan would have hit Xiang Fei with his car and taken him to the hospital then upon finding out that they went to the same school and XF was poor he would have become XF's sugar daddy or something but he'd still be in denial about being gay, meanwhile XF is like yeah I'm in love with him but I know this is a transactional relationship and he'll kick me to the curb one day haha. They probably break up like five times and that's even before they find out that XF is Airplane and SY is Peerless Cucumber

I think on occasion about Natsume instinctively punching someone in the face because he's used to punching youkai. He feels so bad about it while Nishimura is just losing it in the background
