Cause girls are nice and beautiful and cool in general and I like associating with them but romance might make me uncomfortable (I have never been in a relationship so I might be demi but??) but sexual stuff I might be up for but idk if I’m being shallow or not sorry if this is a tmi ask just asdffghjkgfss

so i mean this in the most loving way possible and not saying this is ALWAYS how it is but i used to identify as aromantic and have kind of realized that my initial discomfort with the idea of romance stems more from like personal issues i had[have] that make the idea of opening up to someone and sharing myself with them stressful but like…most ppl are a bit anxious n worried about it to some extent! so while you might genuinely be aromantic i feel like 9/10 after some deep possibly painful introspection it ends up being just a normal apprehension with regards to romance esp if you’re like fairly young?? so a bit new to all of it and also like you said you’ve never been in a relationship before? n neither have i! but maybe the fear of the unknown is part of why you think it’d make you uncomfortable. but i mean u do of course know yourself best! but i’d really look into that and also with regards to identifying as demi i think that’s sort of just…how most ppl are!! i think it’s a very specific kind of person who can authentically be alright with casual sex and genuinely wanting nothing more. i think the Vast Majority of ppl would ideally like to get closer to ppl before having sex with them. if u genuinely end up being aromantic and are only interested in the sexual side of things idk if that makes you shallow so long as you communicate that to the people you’re with and make it clear that you’re not pursuing anything more, and also aren’t insensitive to their feelings obviously. oh also i know a TON of ppl who identified as aromantic or asexual etc before they realized they were a lesbian actually so that MIGHT be part of it.
