Real Police Box Location: Bradgate Park, Newtown Linford, Charnwood, Leicestershire, England. LE6

A Leicestershire Police telephone box of around 1931, moved to its present location in 1952. Timber panels with riveted metal brackets to the sides. Rectangular, approximately 1.8m by 2.4m. Four sides under a very shallow, nearly flat pitched roof over a frieze and cornice. The box sits on a low brick and concrete plinth, which it slightly overhangs.

I was in the audience for the Doctor Who stage play The Ultimate Adventure, on Saturday 15th July 1989, in Wolverhampton, UK. It was Colin Baker’s turn to play the Doctor, and the whole show was rather wonderful.

I remember some merch was available in the Grand Theatre’s foyer, posters and pin-badges if memory serves me right, but I distinctly remember that there were no tee-shirts.

 So, almost 33 years later, I decided to create my own Doctor Who - The Ultimate Advanture tee-shirt. The logo and captioning are accurate impressions of the ones used for the play’s publicity, and the Daleks are faithful digital re-creations of those unique, bespoke props used in the production.

This shock sci-fi image is derived from a panel of comic book art by Jack Starling, originally published in Tomb of Terror #013 in 1954 by Harvey Publications Inc. The strip was entitled "What D'You Know, Joe?".
