“Ofelia,” Chloe sing-songed, spotting the chef from across the restaurant. She had fallen head over heels for Ofelia’s cooking, it inspiring Chloe to put some more effort into cooking at home. As much as she wanted to pretend she could survive on simple food for the rest of her life, it was unfortunately not true. So, with inspiration in mind, Chloe had taken to the kitchen more and more, trying new things where she could. And, after each recipe, she’d show up at the Lobster Shanty with a proud photo on her phone to show Ofelia. It felt a bit like she was a toddler displaying her drawing of stick figures in front of a two dimensional house, but Chloe was proud. She had to show it off to someone. “I made a lasagna, from scratch last week. Some of my best work yet.” She said, flashing the photo to boot. It didn’t look nearly as appetizing as it was, but Chloe figured that was the nature of the dish.
