There’s been a lot of negativity in the Chloe tag lately, so here: have an au idea.

The power of Hawk Moth’s latest akuma didn’t become apparent until Ladybug and Chat Noir defeated it: it erased everyone’s memories of Chloe Bourgeois. When Chloe doesn’t show up after its defeat, the obvious conclusion is that Hawk Moth killed her and wanted to hide the evidence. After that, no more akumas came. Maybe he was so wracked with guilt that he gave up his search.

Ten years later, Adrien finds himself in New York attending a U.N. summit and sees a familiar face in the crowd, and he hears stories of a blonde, butterfly-themed hero that appeared only once in the city- until today, of course, when an attack on the summit leaves them all in need of saving.
