those people are usually not familiar with the bdsm community. they think this is what it's like, they think it's coolio when it's!!!! not!!! and has real life consequences when girls like Ana get into contracts with abusive men and tell themselves they should love it because it worked out in the books. people don't really generally know much about the bdsm community and awful representation like this will just lead to more misconceptions and harm everyone affected. :(

Those are very good points. Hopefully the movie won't be as bad? Like I doubt that they would show a scene where she gives the safe word and he just keeps going?? Idk wishful thinking here lol

I haven't read the whole book but aside from the rape/abuse problem the whole book is so misogynistic??? Ana keeps referring to herself as a slut for having sex, calls her roommate a whore for having sex, and cg is just a creepy piece of. shit. he never gives her a proper into bdsm he just. gives her a contract. boom. ur now my submissive. we r not talking about what that means tho. u r my property now. haha. happy Valentine's Day.

the worst thing in the books is the fact that he gives her a safeword and when she safewords he ignores it = there is no longer consent = it immediately turns into rape. cg also stalks Ana from the beginning, displays no emotion, makes her feel like it's her responsibility to keep him happy. its a rly shitty portrayal of the bdsm community in general. he never offers aftercare which is!! crucial! their whole relationship is based on abuse. bdsm relationships are based on trust and love

Agghhh that does sound awful :/ I was going to say how are there so many people out there that are okay with this book/movie then if it's that bad??? But I guess its because many people don't understand the BDSM culture and believe that that's what it is and therefore it's okay??? idk

For some reason I really only like to drink sangria in the summer time? Possibly because I generally avoid sweeter drinks unless it's really warm, and then they somehow become magical. Like lemonade.

im used to this one same boy saying "hi" to me every morning so once i was on my phone in the hallway with my earphones in my ears listening to music when a vaguely similar looking boy walks past me, turns around and says something. this is the boy that always says hi to me right??? so i say hello. wrONG. it is a completely different person. who wasnt talking to me. probably didnt even see me before i talked. why.

tbh it probably gave him a self confidence boost just knowing that someone like you would say hi to him
