Every Saturday throughout the month of May, OurAwesomePlanet.Com's Anton Diaz and TV Personality, RJ Ledesma would guide you around Megaworld's Lucky Chinatown Mall. Discover the art of tea and treat ailments br just drinking tea at the Botanical Herbal Hall and taste four kinds of tea to make your inner chi flow better.
Think Good, Do Good, Feel Good, Act Good. That is the way of the Buddha! After some relaxing tea tasting it's time to relax the soul. Walk on over the Miao de Temple where everyone of you would be taught how to properly handle a stick of incense and what you would do after that. And I wondered if Yoda is a Buddhist.
Lunchtime! To propel ourselves to go further the tour we must eat and eat a lot we did. From the many food choices in the Lucky Chinatown Walk,( a space between annex A and Annex B that hast a lot of food stalls open during the weekends to serve hungry Mall-goers some authentic Chinese delicacies.) We tried out Cha Cha Food House which has the yummiest Wanton Noodles and sweet, chewy pumpkin cakes.
Then, we had a bowl of delicious noodles from Fu Dao Dumplings. Their stall has a "instagram worthy" facade. Displaying all their food offerings in a way that you would want to take lots of pictures of it before even dipping in your spoon.
Lastly, to Mr. Fast Foo that has the most delicious maki mi I've ever tasted in Binondo. I've actually had two bowls of their Maki... Sssshh! And we also got to taste their Cua Pao an Asian version of a hamburger. Steamed fluffy bun cut in half then filled with beef or pork and some vegetables.
And the star of the Walkway, Mr. Texan Chicken. They were nt part of the actual tour but they offered us what they have, really delicious Chinese-Style fried chicken! Marinated in Chinese herbs then deep fried on a pressure cooker it's the best tasting chicken I've taste!
Then we went to Phoenix Dragon to know about our Zodiac Animals and some stuff about Feng Shui and charms that the Chinese use to attract money, love or whatever we want to have.
To cool ourselves from the harsh heat of the sun we went inside the mall, up to the food court where you could find Rainbow Snow. An interesting "snow dessert" brought here in Manila all the way from Taiwan. It's a block of hard ice cream shaved into fine snow-like consistency.
Then, for another Food trip we went down to the very famous Chinese restaurant Tao Yuan. They served us their Birthday Noodles, which were cooked al-dente just how I love my noodles chewy and flavorful. Then some Hainanse Chicken which originated from Singapore. It was served with Hainanese rice (rice infused with chicken stock) It was so flavorful that I requested another cup of rice. Another dish came out which looked beautiful, it was the Mango Lapu-Lapu. It was delicious! Wish I could've had more of it. For desserts we were served some Mango Taho.
For some relaxation we went to the Wellness Sanctuary. They gave us a free 15-minute session to relax your tight muscles through acupuncture, tuina, or fish spa. Each one can relax a specific part of the body. I wish I could stay longer for their very relaxing tuina massage.
