“Are they gone?” Prompto asked the question, but hadn’t yet moved. Ignis hummed sleepily in response. Gladio and Noctis were out on a little adventure in the form of a long run on the beach. They were at the edge of the beaches of Galdin Quay, camping as usual at the haven there.
“Ignis,” Prompto nudged the advisor with his knee. “Igniiiis.”
Ignis sighed and hummed again. For once, the older man was sleeping more deeply than usual. But a promise was a promise. Prompto finally stirred and shifted closer to the sleepy Ignis. “You promised...”
Another sigh, the blond was sure he was still asleep. “You asked for it, Iggy.” Prompto went digging under the sleeping bags and blankets, searching for access to Ignis’s body. He was only wearing a tank top and pants, he knew, which made it easy to find a way in. Nimble fingers slipped under the shirt and wiggled their way up. Ignis sucked in a breath and jerked, laughing sleepily at the ticklish touch.
“Your hands are cold,” Ignis complained quietly, but Prompto didn’t stop, even as Ignis squirmed to try an escape it.
“C’mon, Iggy, you know you wanna.”
“No, I don’t,” but Ignis was losing the battle to not laugh. Prompto knew he was ticklish, and knew where to get him. Once his fingers reached the back of his ribs, the laughter escaped. Prompto was smiling brightly, he loved seeing Ignis lose control and laugh, even if it was only because he was being tickled. “Alright, time for retaliation,” he managed to get out between gasps of laughter.
“Na-uh, I’m not ticklish, can’t get me like that!” Ignis struggles out of the blankets and grabbed Prompto’s hands, then rolled them to press Prompto’s back to the other sleeping mats. He laid on Prompto to keep him from moving, hands pined over his head, and kissed him. It was quick, he was still catching his breath, but it silenced anything Prompto was about to say. The blond’s face flushed red and his triumphant smile turned shy, but still happy.
“Now that I have the upper hand,” Ignis murmured, smiling, and kissed him again. Prompto sighed into the kiss, unable to move under Ignis’s weight. “You’re naught this morning.”
“But we’re alone, and you promised we have a cuddle, and you’d make pancakes while they’re gone.” Prompto pouted are him, and Ignis scoffed affectionately.
“I did. I’ll let go if you don’t tickle me again.” Prompto nodded vigorously, and the taller man slowly moved his hands down the pale arms. “Good.”
“Ignis,” Prompto murmured, before he was kissed thoroughly again. Ignis lifted himself but didn’t stop kissing him. Prompto clung to his shoulders and kept him close. When they drew away, he sighed out bashfully, “now I got a hard-on.”
“Hmm. Not unusual when you’ve got another body pressed against you.” In this, Ignis had an upper hand. “You’re easily turned on, if I remember correctly.”
“Aahhww, Iggy don’t call me out like that.” The blond covered his face and shook his head. He both loved and hated the way Ignis teased him. When he looked again, he saw affection in Ignis’s eyes, and a smile that was rare. One that Prompto treasured above all else.
“We will be virtuous this morning, however, if you want pancakes.” Ignis put on his glasses and ran fingers through his unstyled hair.
“So unfair,” he feigned indignation but Ignis only chuckled.
“Perhaps this evening we can steal away some time for that.”
“Ohh, okay!” Prompto liked the sound of that. Ignis made his way out of the tent, leaving Prompto to stare at the inside peak of the tent. Moments like this where he felt like the world and all the bad shit they were headed toward was a universe away.
Joy, without anything to get in the way. At least for now. And Ignis’s smile. Prompto’s heart swelled.
“Prompto! Come assist me if you want them the way you like.”
“Coming Iggy!”
