Ingredients: 1/2 cup all-purpose flour. 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder. 1/2 teaspoon baking powder. Pinch of salt. 2/3 cup granulated sugar. 2 large eggs. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled. 1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted. Powdered sugar, for dusting.
Instructions: Preheat the oven to 350F 175C. Grease and flour the madeleine molds. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, beat the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until pale and thick. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the egg mixture until just combined. Fold in the melted butter until the batter is smooth. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. Spoon the batter into the madeleine molds, filling each about 3/4 full. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the madeleines are puffed and spring back when lightly touched. Remove from the oven and let the madeleines cool in the molds for a few minutes. Carefully remove the madeleines from the molds and place them on a wire rack to cool completely. Once cooled, drizzle or dip the madeleines in melted chocolate. Allow the chocolate to set, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
