This Simple Seared Ahi Tuna recipe lets the delicate flavor and texture of fresh Ahi tuna shine through by only seasoning it with a few spices. Great for a quick and fancy seafood dish.
Ingredients: 2 Ahi tuna steaks about 6 ounces each. 1 tablespoon sesame oil. Salt and pepper to taste. 1 tablespoon soy sauce. 1 teaspoon sesame seeds. 1 tablespoon olive oil.
Instructions: A paper towel can be used to dry the tuna steaks. Put sesame oil on both sides of the tuna steaks, then season them with salt and pepper. In a pan, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until it's hot. To get the tuna steaks rare to medium-rare, sear them in the pan for about one to two minutes on each side. Take the tuna steaks out of the pan and give them a minute to rest. Cut the tuna steaks into thin strips across the grain. Spread soy sauce and sesame seeds on top of the sliced tuna steaks. Serve right away.
