This is great. Obviously, I'm all about color, but sometimes it is a breath of fresh air to go minimal.
I love combining shades of gray/black/white with one or two bright accents (I'm seriously obsessed with any black/white/light blue combo). The black and white keep things clean and simple while the accent color lets certain things stand out. This article gives a few great examples of how to minimize color usage in a really effective and stylish way. I would say this is particularly relevant to any portfolio type work where you'd want to emphasize certain things at certain times, or perhaps text-heavy pages that don't want design to detract from content.
