Spotlight: Women in Tech at the Tom Tom Founders Summit
In anticipation of the Tom Tom Founders Summit on April 15, we are offering a special preview of two prominent women in tech coming to Charlottesville, VA. If you are interested in joining them, check out Tom Tom’s Lean-in Initiative.
Sukhinder Singh Cassidy is a former Google Exec and currently founder and CEO of Joyus. She also founded theBoardlist, a project of #choosepossibility, which is all about getting the message out that the success of Fortune 500 companies as well as businesses in general, rests on the foundation that women need to have a seat at the table. Cassidy has received a number of honors including being named one of Forbes (2014) “Power Women” and named one of “The Silicon Valley 100” by Business Insider (2012).
Becca McCharen is a Virginia native and UVA alum. She is the founder and CEO of CHROMAT, a designer line that is worn by powerful and bold women all over the world, including Beyoncé, Madonna, Taylor Swift, and Nicki Minaj. McCharen works on the cutting edge of wearable tech with companies like Intel and Misfit to redefine fashion. Fast Company recently featured her revolutionary work in responsive garments.
