It was better now. Getting better. But he still couldn’t say it. So he resigned himself to just this. For now. Until he knew what he could handle. “Definitely the hottest thing I’d ever seen.”

He needed her to be as strong as he knew she was. He needed her to keep going. So if he had to put aside his own fears and uncertainties, then so be it. “Hey, look at me, Maggie. You’re the strongest person I’ve ever met.”
