Hi! I'm Kate (she/her). I'm a choreographer, writer, actress, (novice) painter/musician, and knitter/crocheter. (See below for more details on writing projects and choreography/dance projects.) Current special interests! - ASL - Retro ('60s-early '00s) computer technology - The history of contemporary, alternative, and rock Christian music (1960s onward) - Calling out the toxicity of Evangelicalism - '80s-'90s smooth jazz/vapourwave - (Music artists) Daniel Amos/Terry Scott Taylor, Crumbächer, NF, White Heart, David Meece - Re-learning piano.

WRITING STUFF I did NaNoWriMo 2009-2023, including a couple of camps. Through that, I amassed 20 rough drafts (between 50k and 74k), so I'm only listing the ones that I'm actively working on or are next in the queue.
I write primarily either on my ‘ancient’ (2011) MacBook Pro or on Lila, my Alphasmart Neo.
Kyrie (currently in second rewrite) 20,000 words (and counting). Mainstream fiction. Michael Regent, a college junior and secretary to Performing Arts Program Director Roland van Lijk, accidentally befriends Kyrie McInnis, a freshman with more performing talent than the entire PA department has ever seen. However, she's not the type to let Roland run her life, and only one of them will win the battle for her artistic integrity...
Next up for rewriting: 40 Watt City (working title, rough draft complete, science fiction), and Father's Delight (rough draft complete, mainstream fiction).

Inside Of You (short film, released October 2023: https://youtu.be/vQfz8gL1340) This is my first official all-tap film since 2018. It parallels my journey to rediscover the courage, spunk, and verve I once had -- all with a funky, folky, early '90s groove.
Smaller (full-length work, in progress) This is my Nachmo 2025 project. It's about living with memory loss, as informed by my own experience.
Private Life (short film, releasing 2025) An dance about how we isolate ourselves from human connection.
Hope (short film, releasing 2025) I've always wanted to do a note-for-note cover of a rap song, and this will be one of my first serious attempts at it.
Desert Rose (short film, releasing 2025?) A solo ballet film about my time living in the (literal) desert and the despair I felt trying to be a splash of life and colour against the dry, dead, brown landscape that sucked me dry and gave me nothing in return.
