she managed to croak out the only word that was on her lips, “why?” he turned her head towards his so he could cup her cheek. his eyes were soft, but they were still fierce. they were so vibrant; they reminded her of her mother’s favorite jade necklace. “because i love you.” (source)
I have no idea what your anon was about but I just saw it and now I've just gotta ask you: Cho/Cormac x nuzzling? (idk I just have a fuzzy image in my head but I can't quite figure out what it is)
okay 1) i love the word nuzzle. it’s so soft and it reminds me of cats and tbh a+
but yes, chormac so:
contrary to, for some reason, popular opinion, Cormac is the clingy one
clingy as in, like, incredibly tactile, lots of hand-holding, lots of draping his buff self over Cho’s small frame while she’s “trying to read Cormac, go away”
Cho doesn’t really mean it, but she also needs to be able to have facility of both of her arms and hands to hold the book and flip the pages, and a heavy lapful of petulant blond boyfriend doesn’t really allow that
Cormac wanders off - not for long though because, as said before - clingy
he grabs his own books, which aren’t as heavy as Cho’s Healer textbooks, and proceeds to just
slowly
scoot closer to Cho
She obviously notices this, because Cormac is as discreet as a rampaging hippogriff, but tbh she doesn’t really mind
and then there’s his arm draped casually over her shoulder - which doesn’t disrupt her reading so Cho lets him
and then Cormac’s chin resting on her other shoulder - which is kinda pointy because he’s resting on bone but it’s not too bad because for his somewhat bloated ego, his head isn’t actually that heavy
and then - and this always makes Cho laugh when she thinks about it - Cormac just kinda leans in and - nuzzles her, nose brushing against her cheek, like some needy cat who’s asking for attention
which, to be fair, isn’t that far off
“you’re pretty needy, aren’t you, McLaggen?” Cho asks, as if she doesn’t know how Cormac is
and Cormac just grins, because Cho puts aside her books for a bit and lets him sprawl over her lap, completely unaffected by Cho muttering about “spoiled boyfriends” and “blonde idiots”

They fought, probably more than they should, because they weren’t afraid to tell each other what they really thought. And that’s what made them so perfect for one and other.
She needed someone who wasn't afraid of breaking her, and he needed someone who wasn't scared to tell him when he'd done wrong. At first, Cho wasn't afraid to lose Cormac when they querreled, because he wasn't important to her. Then, after she realized she'd fallen for him, she wasn't afaid to loose him because he loved her back.
And once you love someone, they never truly leave you. Cho knew that better than most.
Make Me Choose: Chormac or Cormione - for anonymous
“Unlike her, he was able to play Quidditch professionally. She had no idea how he made it so far since he couldn’t even make his house team during their Hogwarts days, but she assumed it was because he was ridiculously hot.” (source)
keeping score
cho chang x cormac mclaggen
this is for my “best harry potter blog” tumblr awards winner @siriusisntdead and for the on the job challenge that is being put on by the @hprarepairnet!
cho originally wanted to be a professional quidditch player.
but that dream was crushed once she realized it was only a hobby, and she wasn’t good enough to make it her career.
she talked with marietta for months about what to do, and while she figured it out, she traveled the world.
she learned something rather interesting about herself along the way while being alone.
she loved to heal people, because others had never healed her in the past when she needed it most.
so once she arrived back home, she was an intern for madam pomfrey at hogwarts for a year.
and after that year passed, she was hired on at st. mungos.
it was a dream come true, really. until she had to deal with difficult patients.
and by difficult patients, she meant cormac mclaggen.
unlike her, he was able to play quidditch professionally.
she had no idea how he made it so far since he couldn’t even make his house team during their hogwarts days, but she assumed it was because he was ridiculously hot.
and that pissed her off.
he seemed to come in after every match with a new injury.
marietta claimed he purposely got injured to see her.
but cho knew that was ridiculous.
he wasn’t even that daft.
or so she thought.
it was a saturday when he came in to heal a broken bone for the fourth week in a row.
as soon as she saw him hauled into the emergency room, she rolled her eyes.
he noticed.
“what?” he teased, “are you not happy to see me?”
she considered answering honestly, but her professionalism took over.
“it is always nice to see you, cormac,” she lied through her teeth, “but i wish you would be more careful.”
“aw, are you worried about me, chang?”
she looked up from his mending arm to see him batting his eyelashes at her and smirking.
she huffed.
“it’s my job to heal people, mclaggen. you’re not some special case.”
“are you sure about that?”
their eyes met, and cormac would not look away.
cho took this as a challenge and stared straight through him.
his smirk spread wider, and she finally broke their gaze.
cormac: 1, cho: 0.
“what are you doing after your shift? how about i take you out for a firewhiskey. like usual, your mending charms and potions heal me in less than five hours.”
she cleaned up the potions on the bedside table and tried to ignore his question, but he wasn’t having it.
“why are you so against me trying to heal you, chang?” he asked her seriously.
she shot her head up to look at him again.
but this time, his face was completely serious. it made her catch her breath.
“i-i don’t need to be healed.”
her voice cracked. she felt weak.
“liar,” cormac stated, “you’re such a liar, cho.”
cormac: 2, cho: 0.
it was the first time he had ever said her first name.
she couldn’t breathe.
all she could think to do was ignore him and act like he didn’t say a thing.
and as she was about to walk out of the room, she could feel his eyes on him.
at the last second, she turned around on her heel and whispered, “eight, that’s when i get off.”
she knew it was stupid. she knew she would regret it.
she wasn’t sure he even heard her until she heard him faintly say, “i’ll see you then,” as the door clicked shut behind her.
cormac: 3, cho: 1.
chormac, 7
“All I ask for is for you to a put a little effort in with my friends! I get along with your friends but you can’t even do more than grunt at mine!” Cho’s eyes were on the road but Cormac knew they were burning with rage.
“Cho stop nagging me, Christ. I tried okay.” Cormac bit back.
Cho laughed derisively, “if that was you trying I’d hate to see your minimal effort. Honestly, I don’t know what’s so wrong with my friends that you can’t even bring yourself to say three words to them.”
“You make me feel like I’m not good enough.” Cormac exploded, he regretted it as soon as he saw Cho’s face fall.
“I -” She began, still not looking at him.
“Not just you, all of you, all of you’re friends. You all know stuff and I just, I was never that smart. I feel dumb around all of you.”
“Babe, I-” Cho seemed at a loss for words.
“You should be with one of those guys, like Michael Corner or something, he’s smart.”
Cho tore her eyes from the road long enough for Cormac to see how sad they looked.
“I don’t love Michael, I love you.”
“Yeah, for now.” Cormac muttered.
send me ships and numbers
Sparked partially by a Chomac edit I saw last night, and now your anon, I was wondering... Do you have any good headcanons for these two? I love the imagery they invoke in my mind, and would love to know more about what other people thing for them :)
so I was introduced to Chormac by @petuniaevans, and seeing as I love Cho and I have a soft spot for asshole-quidditch-jock-bro McLaggen:
i see them as getting together out of circumstance - like Cho’s bored, Cormac’s interested and so she just agrees on a whim
and it actually - works?
like Cormac is a no bullshit kinda guy, and Cho’s had enough of people dancing around her, after the last few years, and if it’s bad, she just won’t go on a second date
except she actually has fun, because they like the same quidditch team, and are both into astronomy (who woulda thought)
and he actually listens to her ambitions, and what it was like after everything, and they both had similar war experiences, both with parents that side with the ministry but also both knowing that they should be fighting for what’s right
they’d also be the couple who are hella intimidating on the field
with like - semi matching sports uniforms and crossed arms and yeah, Cho is tiny but she’s also got her glare down and Cormac just has broad shoulders and corded forearms and everything, which makes them a sight
and Cho always challenges Cormac to broom races bc “i’m a seeker, which means i’m obviously faster”
lots of fights, but mainly small bickering over the tv, what to eat - they know what not to press, and know when they’ve crossed lines
also Cormac, while blunt and pig-headed, and the stereotypical jock at times, is also pretty good with listening when he realizes people need it
and Cho appreciates that
