ok i may not like this fic so much anymore even if it’s almost done but i accidentally came up with the best line i could have possibly come up with to describe tyracel’s mindset wrt her personal struggles/motivations

because if that isn’t tyra to a T i don’t know what is tbh--she’s always looking at the future because the present seems incomprehensibly fleeting, and if something good is happening to her in the present, she’s already getting ready for it to fall through, even if it wouldn’t feasibly happen for some time

i want some poor SI:7 agent to be in charge of tracking down and arresting miri at some point in her piracy career and she is absolutely DELIGHTED at the fact because it means she has enough of a reputation to warrant being pursued

so miri figures out whoever it is that draws the short straw on finding her, and they get into a cat-and-mouse type situation where every time it looks like miri might lose, it turns out like

but naturally she escapes and the game keeps going until miri actually does officially join the Alliance's payroll as a privateer at which point the whole thing becomes a big inside joke
