Ok but like this was a moment that just melted my heart in the One Piece live action and I just had to mention it.
One of Luffy and Usopp’s first interactions after Usopp joins the crew is where Usopp and Luffy bicker about who the captain of the straw hats is. And the whole crew ends up laughing and it makes for a cute scene, but this is something that just fades into the back of your mind as you watch the show.
That is until the final episode.
After defeating the Arlong Pirates, Usopp as per usual is telling a tall tale, boasting about his single-handed defeat of Arlong, despite him only taking out one of the crew members, which for him, is a big step forward being the first opponent he’s defeated alone. As the crowd listens in silence, the straw hats walk into view. And Luffy hearing this, instead of denying his story or saying he was the one who defeated Arlong, raises his hand and cheers, “Three cheers for Captain Usopp, we couldn’t have done it without him!”
And for Usopp, who for his entire life has been called a liar and a coward he just looks so. happy as the crowd breaks into applause. And that Luffy, instead of arguing with him or calling him out, just, encourages him, getting the crowd to cheer and clap.
This is why I love the straw hats.
