Hear me out: girl dads Ratiodei

this ask has been plaguing my mind and i really wanted to draw something for it but also i can't stay silent

i think they'd be awesome parents. like no joke. yeah ratio's strict but he's not an asshole, he really enjoys watching people grow and learn and wants to help them!! and i think he'd be a great helping-with-homework-talking-about-books-dad

and mydei's canonically so so good with kids. and once again! loyal and kind and only wishes the best for people he chooses to protect! he'd be soooo protective over their daughter!! he'd play with her and cook her favorite things and spoil her rotten!!! he just really wants his kid to have the warmth and love he never really had himself as a child. ough

and as usual some notes:

- i don't think they planned to have a kid actually. i think mydei's just showed up one day and was like "this child won't stop following me. can we keep her?". and ratio's like what the hell, sure

- they act a bit nervous and clumsy around the girl at first. mydei's afraid he'll fuck the kid up bc he hasn't had a great childhood himself. and ratio's afraid he'll fuck the kid up bc he knows he's not a gentle and nurturing type (and also i hc that his childhood also hasn't been great). but they try their best

- ratio's insistent on the girl calling them by their names. she kinda tries but settles on "veri" and "de"

- when she calls ratio dad for the first time he freaks out SO bad. he puts her to bed and then goes to have an existential crisis and then probably has a fight with mydei over it. his ass was NOT ready

- mydei freaks out too but more expressively. maybe he raises his voice a little on the girl and regrets it instantly and then holds her close and comes to terms with that. yeah. he's a daddy now.

- eventually they both admit that they're officially dads. whatever that means. they just want the girl safe and they love her and then they watch movies together and fall asleep on the couch happy and content and maybe it's all going to be fine

- i do think the girl gets nervous over them quarreling a lot. they explain later that it's not an expression of hate but also try to word-spar less in front of her

AND NOW SOME NOTES ON THE GIRL

- her name's penelope. idk. i just know it.

- mydei finds her when she's around six and she ran away from home and lived on the street for some time and then just followed the big kind man who's been spending time with her for like a week

- she's non-verbal at first and both ratio and mydei gently urge her to open up (ratio goes non-verbal when he's overstimulated and knows how it is, mydei gets being scared and lonely. they both try their best)

- she turns out to be a yapper, and grows up to be self-assured and rowdy and a smartass. her parents couldn't be more proud

- her perception of love as a teen is a little weird bc of her dads who are definitely terribly in love but also squabble a lot. so she just starts fights with people she likes (she grows out of it soon enough)

- she's really perceptive and smart. her Dignified Child Hyperfixation used to be dinosaurs (their Amphoreus' version or smth)

- "penelope got into a fight at school" "oh titans, penelope. did you win?" (she sure as hell did)

- i love her with all my heart

Hi again, back to bother you about Mydei/Ratio.

I remember seeing a post somewhere on here about Ratio being like a humanized Titankin. What are your thoughts about this? Because I ran with this and made an au where basically Mydei's mom or someone in Kremnos made Ratio so Mydei would have a friend that didn't die as easily as humans did.

i woke up in a middle of the night and saw this ask and i won't be able to sleep until i reply SO

first of all, this is an AMAZING idea about ratio. furiae philosopher looking just like him, all this indigo iron in kremnos... the way he feels most comfortable working with screwllum (inorganic who got the recognition of nous).... AND we also have this side quest about titankin trying to go against her nature. oh this theory is simply amazing

second, THIS AU IS EVERYTHING? mydei definetely was a lonely child, and i can imagine him being both aversed to the idea of having friends and longing for it all the same. and gorgo seems like a person who'd do something like that!! it also makes a lot of sense in terms of mydei's character, how he's this isolated and still lonely. like. his only friend ever left him you know

and this one might be just me going completely insane, but i also noticed that mydei's and ratio's clothes mirror each other a bit and mydei has blue accents in his design that don't really make sense. do you get my vision.

mydei trying to help ratio with feeling more human. ratio still noticing how different he is from all the others. but his friend is still here to share and help him. and yet, will he ever feel properly grateful for it like a human being can? ough.

anyway this is fantastic, i'm losing my mind, love reflecting on what exactly is humanity and love the childhood friends trope wayyyy too much. thanks for this ask i'll never be normal again

Question for ya. For possible research purposes.

How do you think Mydei would react if Nikador used Ratio as his vessel and basically possesses Ratio? In order to defeat Nikador, the Heirs now have to kill Ratio to get the core flame.

i think it'd be something like that moment with Raine getting possessed by Belos in The Owl House. like, Ratio's DEFINETELY not happy about his authority being taken away and will fight till the end. And even though Nikador's coreflame is driving him mad he'd beg Mydei to kill him. 'I always kinda knew you'd be the death of me'.... ohhhhh.............

and a silly thought: Nikador's just kinda chilling in Ratio's body, not giving him the whole demigod power but like. a cranky and tired roommate. and Ratio's like goddamn get this pest out of here. bonus point if he's pining for Mydei and Mydei's pining for him and Nikador's just like. damn you bitches NEED to figure things out. and that's how The God of Strife became a wingman.
