Hello, Chrima fans! In the spirit of Day 2 of Chrima Celebration, I decided I ought to share some "dragon's treasure" from my own hoard... of fic bookmarks!
These are listed in order of decreasing length (to help you decide what fits best into your schedule) and encompass a variety of genres and themes, so hopefully you'll find at least one gem you take a shine to! Make sure to check out the authors' other works if you like what you see here, as I limited myself to only listing one fic per author even though many of them have MULTIPLE amazing stories posted.
With that said, let's begin!
Dragon's Will - Rating: E - Length: 125k
Summary:
Robin, secretly harboring the essence of Grima, is more than just a tactician—he's a master manipulator with a dark, hidden agenda. Over time, he develops an all-consuming attachment to Chrom, who, despite his marriage to Sumia and duties as Exalt, finds himself increasingly drawn to Robin in ways that challenge his loyalty and sense of duty.
Okay, this one is still a WIP, but listen to me, I need, I mean NEED, you to read it even if you normally don't read WIPs. If you are truly going to lose sleep if you don't have a semblance of a conclusion then stop at chapter 25 (or chapter 26 for the additional smut scene) but PLEASE READ THIS FIC because I swear it is the BEST Chrom corruption fic I have EVER read. If you have ANY interest in dark fics whatsoever, I am begging you to give this one a look.
Human Like You - Rating: M - Length: 102k
Summary:
The Fell Dragon Grima has been reborn one thousand years after being sealed by Ylisse’s first Exalt to a Plegian sorcerer named Validar. However, if Grima wishes to accomplish what he attempted one thousand years ago, he must acquire Ylisse’s sacred treasure, the Fire Emblem. To do that, he sets out to gain the trust of the Ylissean prince.
The original timeline of Fire Emblem Awakening reimagined. Grima is Robin, Robin is Grima, and there’s no adult Lucina to help change fate.
Another WIP, but if you enjoy reading WIPs, then I highly recommend this one. It's one I always drop everything to read as soon as it updates. The slow burn is exquisite here.
The Last of a Dying Breed - Rating: M - Length: 56k
Summary:
"Robin!" Chrom yells again but this time he feels slightly less guilty at the other’s flinch. “I'd never— why would you think I'd stab you?! We beat Grima, didn't we?”
Robin laughs again with that same bitter smile and something ugly coils around Chrom’s heart.
...
Chrom is very confused, and all he can do is lean closer and grab Robin’s other hand in reassurance. "Tell me what's wrong."
Robin makes several false starts, his expression shifting from amused to hesitant to crestfallen. Finally, he takes a deep breath and opens his eyes.
All six of them.
After defeating Validar and destroying Grima, Chrom waits for Robin to wake up. When he does, he realises that nothing’s gone quite as planned, both for the better and for the worse.
Robin has his memories back. All of them.
And he is Grima as much as he is Robin.
(A story of expected betrayal and cruelty, and how none of them come to pass.)
I love the characterization in this one. The other members of the Shepherds get some great moments, too! (I love Tharja in particular.) This fic definitely has some heavy moments, and there are scenes of torture and gore, but it ends with a very nice happily ever after. Also, if you like the Shepherds being polyamorous, you'll enjoy that here.
wine mom but the wine is human blood - Rating: T - Length: 51k
Summary:
Chrom and Robin successfully defeated Validar, but when the Hierophant awakened Grima on her own, Robin failed to resist the fell dragon’s power and became Grima’s vessel.
Carrying the Parallel Falchion and the Fire Emblem, Lucina and the other Shepherds fled Grima’s Table, leaving behind Robin and a badly-wounded Chrom, both of whom they assumed to be dead. Now Risen roam the land and Grima pursues the Shepherds. But somehow the Vessel seems to have retained a little more of woman she once was this time …
Don't let the meme-y title fool you, this fic is quite serious, and very dark. Pretty much every chapter is heartwrenching and full of angst, and while there's a more... gentle... epilogue, it's still very sad. This one's definitely only for darkfic lovers, but it's a very good story.
Harebells - Rating: M - Length: 30k
Summary:
"Because a world that made me kill you doesn't deserve to exist!"
He couldn't stand it anymore.
This fic has the most unique interpretation of the Grima-Robin situation I have ever seen. I mean, it's obviously not MY interpretation, but it's just such an interesting take that I couldn't help but be delighted reading it. I don't want to give too much away, but it links Grima and the thanatophages in such a fascinating way. I highly recommend checking it out for yourself.
If I Were Human - Rating: E - Length: 17k
Summary:
Ever since the resurrection of Grima, Chrom and the Shepherds have gone into hiding, fighting off wave after wave of Risen invasion. It seems there is no end in sight, until Chrom convinces the others to send him into Plegia, disguised as one of the Risen himself. He intends to save Robin from Grima's influence, but can he truly defeat the Fell Dragon without killing the man he inhabits?
This is my most re-read bookmark because I just can't get enough of it. Mm... I don't want to spoil the thing about it that makes me go so crazy, but... Yeah, let's just say the little twist gets me hollering every time.
Heart Snatching - Rating: T - Length: 14k
Summary:
One Shot. Tumblr Prompt Fill.
"However, Chrom’s favourite tales were of dragons. Dragons could be wise, powerful, helpful. Dragons who would grant wishes or protect people in need. Dragons who would soar through the skies and listen to the voices of the people. Chrom loved all of the tales but his favourite one was of the Heart Snatcher."
A magical sickness sweeps through Ylisstol leaving people emotionless husks. Chrom is certain a dragon is causing this so he sets out to find the dragon and demand they fix everyone.
This fic is extremely cute! Very fairy tale-esque, it's full of cute interactions and has a happy ending. If you're not up for any of the darker fare on this rec list, try this one instead! It makes me very happy <3
A River of Foreign Stars - Rating: T - Length: 12k
Summary:
Grima arrives in Askr to find Lucina waiting for him, demanding to know where he's been. That's funny, he has the same question for her.
One of my favorite parent-child Grima-Lucina fics. This one features m!Grima and sees the two of them confronting each other in Askr. Fell Exalt Chrom is also there, and the Morgan twins show up in the epilogue, so this is great one to read if you love the whole messed up family.
Family Matters - Rating: G - Length: 11k
Summary:
Little Lucina goes on a field trip with a woman she calls Robin
My OTHER favorite parent-child Grima-Lucina fic. This one is with f!Grima, and the Lucina here is still a child. Little Lucina is really cute, and the ending is pretty heartwarming, so check it out if you want something a little lighter.
Unwrap Me - Rating: M - Length: 6k
Summary:
Grima is trying to spend his winter festival night in peace. This is ruined very quickly when he hears some kind of noise in the chimney.
Technically only the first chapter is Chrima (the second is RKChrobin) but that's not going to stop me from recommending this one, because it's REALLY cute and funny. Winter Chrom needs more appreciation!
Pawprints in the mud - Rating: M - Length: 3k
Summary:
Because Robin may have lost their memories, but some parts of them still remember. Perhaps their teeth, or their fingers.
(Or: vignettes of Robin trying to piece their past together based on quirks they don't remember the origin of.)
Oh my god, this one... The author tagged Dead Dove for a reason, but assuming you're alright with the content, this fic is AMAZING. The ending is very powerful.

Summary:
Chrobinweek 2023 - Day 5 - Horrible Timing
Rumors abound in Ylisstol Castle - Prince Chrom is to take a wife, now that the war has ended. Now if Grima knew what exactly a wife is, and how to prevent her from taking Grima's spot in Chrom's life, that'd be ideal.
Look, Chrom wanted to tell him something. Perfect opportunity to ask, right?
(Or: Grima doesn't quite know what marriage is yet on account of the whole "never been outside the labyrinth till recently" thing, and Chrom tries to propose. Idiocy ensues.)
This fic is part of an AU where Robin's amnesia at the beginning of the game hits a little harder than in canon and thus it's post-SoV Grima waking up to Chrom in the field. You should read the whole series because it's a delight, but this one in particular is my favorite. Who doesn't love a good proposal fic?
To Be With You - Rating: G - Length: 2k
Summary:
“Never in the two thousand years I have been alive,” Grima murmurs as Chrom’s hand slips into his, “have I ever been offered this kindness.”
Oh, this one is so soft... A little bit of hurt and a whole lot of comfort. The perfect fic for when you want to read about something nice happening to Grima.

Summary:
He knew better than that now. It did not matter.
… if so, then why was he still plagued by such pointless dreams?

Grima is Robin. Robin was in love with Chrom. So where does that leave Grima?
If you're in the mood to feel sad about Chrima, this is a great one for you. Very sorrowful.
A transient respite - Rating: T - Length: 1k
Summary:
The Fell Exalt knew it would be useless to outrun the coming onslaught of earth. Forces of nature... they were impossible to win against. The shard of enchanted lightning in his gut could attest to that. And yet, this time, he had the power of one on his side.

This is RKChrima fluff... or what passes for it when it comes to the two of them, anyway. This is the fic for you if you want to heal your heart with Grima showing his Fell Exalt a little tenderness.
Wide Awake - Rating: G - Length: 1k
Summary:
Grima dreams about his time in Thabes.
Some really cute hurt/comfort. Grima has nightmares about the past, and Chrom hums a song to help soothe him. This fic is just precious.
Melle et Felle - Rating: E - Length: 1k
Summary:
Chrom's light is a honey-sweet venom that transcends fate.
I do so love an unreliable narrator... I think there are a lot of ways you can interpret this one, so it's really fun if you like a bit of ambiguity in your narratives.
Of Grief and Hope - Rating: G - Length: < 1k
Summary:
Everyone deserves a second chance. Even the destroyer of worlds.
I like this one because part of me hopes that somewhere deep down, Grima did hope they would see something change when they followed Lucina back in time. A nice, hopeful note to end on.
