‘Argh! Could you just NOT!’, Hazel groaned in frustration, highly annoyed with these two. She wasn’t prude, but they had been making out for twenty minutes already, and they had been doing it right under her nose. It was Fern’s sister show, for God’s sake, where Jayce’s best friend played the guitar since he had joined the band a couple of months earlier; their family was performing but they payed no attention to it. Noooo sir, they had been frenching like it was their last day on earth, and she was there to witness it. Argh!
‘They just cannot, it seems’, Rose giggled, commenting the situation with no trace of irritation in her voice. Apparently, novel writing had changed her views on PDA as she could now use it as the reference in her books.
‘Could you just make it a bit more private then?’ Hazel tried again, not sure if they could hear her over the sound of saliva rushing from one mouth to another. 'What is the matter with you two anyway?’ To her utter disbelief her question actually made them stop kissing.
'Jayce’s leaving tomorrow for a whole week,’ Fern replied, gently touching his cheek and not sparing Hazel a glance. 'We need to make the most of the time we have tonight.’

He always thought being single was great. You had your freedom, and that was the most important thing. You could do whatever you wanted hence become whatever you desired to. You could taste and try everything, from food to people, without any obligations and responsibilities. With no attachment you could choose to change your path every moment. You were easy when single. That night Max also learned you were alone when single. He suddenly started to miss the shoulder to cry on. Not just some hypothetical shoulder to listen to his whining, but a real shoulder to understand him or at least to actually sympathize with him. He suddenly saw the coziness of relationship that made people share the air they breathed. He suddenly realized that he might have been wrong.

She actually managed to fell asleep while zombies champed and thrived on poor stupid people on the background. Not that he minded her insensibility. She fell asleep partly on him which he was grateful for. To be completely honest he had been enjoying this scenario very much, thank you, until the sudden loud car horn woke her up. She stretched then, and he enjoyed it some more. And then his enjoyment died in throes of despair. Because the first thing she said was, ‘Oh! I think it’s the shit’.
‘What’s the shit?’ he asked blissfully not aware of the shit being the end of him.
Was he being overdramatic? You bet! He had a reason.
‘It’s my boyfriend’, she explained.
‘YOU HAVE A BOYFRIEND?’
See, he had every right to be overdramatic that night.

They were at the cabin. There were Jay, and Fern, and Fern’s cousin Sawyer with his new boyfriend that was way nicer than the last one. And there was Chris. And she had a boob. And another one. At this point Max was almost angry with her having two of them because he couldn’t choose one to concentrate on. She also had a butt that consisted of two butt cheeks. Two. That made it four, four things that distracted him from his vacation that was supposed to be pleasant not torturous. No, he knew he was an ass. He had a mother that tended to share her opinions about him after all but that’s not like he could do something about it. The last time he saw Chris she had no boobs and no butt cheeks. She was like twelve. She had nothing but an annoyingly sharp tongue. Everything about her had changed though. And how was he supposed to talk to her if he couldn’t even formulate his thoughts?

‘You know what?’ He still couldn’t let it go. ‘I don’t believe you don’t remember me. Do you know what I think? I think you’re pretending you don’t remember me’. He looked as smug as a dog that just tasted some deliciously stinky poop. What a good boy.
‘And why do I need that?’ She asked feeling actually curious about what his sick self-centered mind invented to not feel less self-centered.
‘Because you’re in love with me’. Duh. ‘That’s kinda obvious. You’re a great actress, though, I admit. I’d never say you have the hots for me’.
‘Maybe it’s because I don’t?’ He wasn’t retarded, he was delusional like any other half-famous guy who thought the Universe to be created for his personal convenience.
‘I think I’m having a spasm’, she said dryly.
‘Where?’ At least he had decency to sound worried.
‘In my brain’.

Chris came to the living room because her sister had promised her an exiting movie and engaging conversation. She learned two bad news the moment she opened the door. There was no exciting movie because the movie in question was about flamingos. If those birds weren’t having their own kind of Big Brother she wasn’t interested. The second bad news was Mad Max that sat on the couch looking bored and displeased with flamingos. At least that one was quite natural. Settling next to him she sighed. She had to talk to him, hadn’t she?
‘This movie sucks’. He looked at her then.
‘I have to disagree. Red Feather just met the love of her life, Long Feather’, he replied with absolutely serious expression on his face.
‘If ‘Feather’ is their last name, they may have a few problems with progeny’. She turned toward TV and watched the Feather Family Drama for couple of minutes. Then she had enough of it. ‘Don’t you want to switch to something more exciting?’ she asked him. Mad Max didn’t look convinced.
‘Dunno’, he drawled. ‘Fern told me she wanted to watch this’.
‘Fern Shmern’, Chris mocked, ‘I see her cuddling with Jayce in front of the fire. She won’t want anything beside her dude in the near future. So. I suggest gore’. She made a gesture that gave the last word an extra dramatic effect.
Suddenly he grabbed her and pressed to himself.
‘I think I’m in love with you’, he said hotly as if she just killed a dragon for him.
He totally was mad.
