Emelie Movie Review
Director: Michael Thelin. Writer: Rick Herbeck. 2015
The story is creepy AF; the story revolves around a girl pretending to be a babysitter, for a good part of the movie you think the girls is actually there to kill the kids, later on its revealed that the grils actually wants to kidnap oe of the kids and has a whole elaborate plan to do so. I found it very creepy and cringy to watch, there are a few scenes that I had to look away.
It makes a good horror hild because i feel like this is most parents worse nightmare and it feels real, this movie could have a “based on a true story” desclaimer and I would believe it.
The girl playing the babysitter does a great job at portraying the character and you’re very uncomfortable with the actions of said character; her actions don’t make sense most of the time and even after the tragic backstory reveal, some of her previous actios still don’t fit in completely.
The plot feels completed by the oldest kid character, who at first is captivated by the girl but later on is able to see her true motives and tries and saves his sibilings.
There is a happy endien for the family, after the whole conflict the kids make it out unharmed and the sitter survives, maybe they are hoping for a sequel, maybe it was just to show us that evil amost always survives.
Towards the end of the movie there are a few scenes too dark and is hard to follow the action, sadly during this scenes is also where most the action takes place.
I personally wouldn’t watch it twice, but if creepy and cringy is your thing, go ahead.

‘Claire in Motion’ Review: Betsy Brandt Gets Caught in Elliptical Mystery
The second feature written and directed by Lisa Robinson and Annie J. Howell (“Small, Beautifully Moving Parts”),”Claire in Motion” has an appealing stillness and intensity. It works as both a quiet, meditative study of grief and a muted examination of identity, but not as a compelling mystery. We first meet the low-key academic Claire (Betsy Brandt, “Breaking Bad”) in the lowest key of positions…

“Emelie” (2016): Bad Babysitter! Bad, Bad Babysitter!!
When you think of evil babysitter films, there are a number of films that slot neatly into that sub genre. Take films like The Hand That Rocks The Cradle (1992) in which Rebecca DeMornay played a deranged nanny looking to murder the family she worked for, or The Guardian (1990) in which Jenny Seagrove is the babysitter from hell and has some really evil plans for the young boy she’s been hired to…

Mike ‘The Movie Guy’ Movie Review: #EmelieMovie
Last night I had the opportunity to watch a screener for the upcoming thriller, horror movie…EMELIE. It actually hits select theaters and On Demand today. I didn’t watch the trailer before receiving the screener…I didn’t read what the movie was about…I simply went off the movie poster. An ‘interesting’ girl, three scared kids and the words, “THE BABYSITTER IS HERE.” EMELIE is about (without…
