Director: Michael Thelin. Writer: Rick Herbeck. 2015
The story is creepy AF; the story revolves around a girl pretending to be a babysitter, for a good part of the movie you think the girls is actually there to kill the kids, later on its revealed that the grils actually wants to kidnap oe of the kids and has a whole elaborate plan to do so. I found it very creepy and cringy to watch, there are a few scenes that I had to look away.
It makes a good horror hild because i feel like this is most parents worse nightmare and it feels real, this movie could have a “based on a true story” desclaimer and I would believe it.
The girl playing the babysitter does a great job at portraying the character and you’re very uncomfortable with the actions of said character; her actions don’t make sense most of the time and even after the tragic backstory reveal, some of her previous actios still don’t fit in completely.
The plot feels completed by the oldest kid character, who at first is captivated by the girl but later on is able to see her true motives and tries and saves his sibilings.
There is a happy endien for the family, after the whole conflict the kids make it out unharmed and the sitter survives, maybe they are hoping for a sequel, maybe it was just to show us that evil amost always survives.
Towards the end of the movie there are a few scenes too dark and is hard to follow the action, sadly during this scenes is also where most the action takes place.
I personally wouldn’t watch it twice, but if creepy and cringy is your thing, go ahead.
