Ghomeshi fallout? CBC head of radio put on leave of absence
CBC head of radio Chris Boyce (pictured) and executive of human resources and industrial relations Todd Spencer were both put on a leave of absence Monday evening, the Toronto Star reports. Boyce was a central figure in the Jian Ghomeshi story, being of one of two CBC executives that viewed evidence at Ghomeshi's lawyer's office on Oct. 23 allegedly showing that the former "Q" host caused physical injury to a woman. Boyce told the CBC's Fifth Estate that an internal investigation had been conducted by the CBC and that "Q" staff were spoken to. When asked about the investigation on the Fifth Estate, Q staffers said they had not been questioned. CBC spokesman Chuck Thompson said the move was a "management decision" and would not reveal if the leave is paid or unpaid.
