When the series starts, Matt is only just beginning his vigilante career, so you get to see his fight style develop over the course of the season — how would you describe his evolution?
"You get to watch Matt evolve into Daredevil. There are flashbacks that go back to literally the first time he put on a suit and was a vigilante. It all follows along with the story, and Charlie literally took the comic book story and made it come to life because in the early-on action scenes he’s fighting with his heart, and that’s it. He doesn’t have any amazing techniques. You know he’s been trained and you find out later on who his instructor is and who really did most of his training, but he’s not fighting as a technician. He’s not fighting like assassins or superheroes fight. He’s fighting with his heart. He is just trying to do good and take out the bad guys."

Chris Brewster, a fight choreographer on Black Panther and a stunt double and fight choreographer on Daredevil, is directing a film where Wesley Snipes fights zombies.
It’s called Outbreak Z and, while it’s definitely going to be straight-to-DVD, I’m excited as fuck.

Chris Brewster did a Q& A and it was really cool. But the highlights for me were all the things he said about Charlie Cox and his devotion and insight into Matt. It made me beam in pride because it freaking shows.

Can you tell us about preparing for the prison fight scene in DD season 3? How long did it take to prep for that and what did it require, logistically speaking, to pull it off?

Unlike features, the Marvel/Netflix shows run on a very fast schedule. We literally had less than a week to prep for the Prison fight. Ultimately, the core fight team (Myself, RJ Wolfe, Evan Taylor, and Aaron Joshua) had one day to brainstorm, one day to rehearse with the main fighters (Dave Macomber, Jefferson Cox, Mike Yahn, Caine Sinclair, and John Nania). Charlie learned the choreo and had the fight down in less than a few hours. Then we had a few hours to rehearse with Jeff, our steadicam operator. Every other department pretty much watched the rehearsals, and knew where to go to make it all work. I am amazed at how quickly and well it all came together!

No, they make both costumes as "action ready" as possible. That's important, because Charlie does as much (if not more) action as I do!

Hello Chris, amazing work at Daredevil, best season I've seen so far, you've done a fantastic job. My question is how did you figure out choosing the best fighting technique for stunts, I mean your team sure had to do some research as DD is a classic comic character, so what target mindset you guys had for the fighting style to end up on the show?

Truthfully, it was a combination of my personal style, research through all the different DD comic story lines, and a lot of insight from Charlie. Charlie really embraced me early on in this show, and showed me a depth in the story and his character, that I have never seen. Plus, every time I choreograph a fight, I show it to Charlie, and he finds so many ways to make it better. He always finds incredible character and style spots.

How much thought did you guys put into changing up Daredevil’s fighting style this season? At the beginning we see he can’t really even throw a kick, let alone flip- what was the process on making him into more of a boxer?
Also one of the episodes had an amazing arm bar and it was thrilling. BJJ?

This season, Daredevil's fighting style took a lot of thought from a lot of people. Erik Oleson, our show runner (who is amazing), gave us a really strong direction as far as where DD starts this season. Charlie, as always, knows Matt Murdock more than anyone, so he really helped us every step along the way. Both Erik and Charlie loved the idea of Matt following in his father's footsteps, and focusing on his hands until he was physically able to do more. The arm bar made a lot of sense in that scene. We always try to make the action really exciting, but also make sense!
