With summer drawing to a close things are moving at pace on the music front again! We've just finished a new video with Blueblut and there is one more to be released very shortly. Check out Monky Buh here:
Blueblut has a lot of touring coming up too, starting with the Paraflows Festival in Vienna, and followed by a European tour at the end of October.
Led Bib is also active with a short tour in Germany including Jazzfestival Karlsruhe in October and a short tour in the UK in November including an appearance at London Jazz Festival. If you are quick you can also catch a set from our last tour in the UK on the BBC....available till Monday here!
There is also some news on the free improv recording front. My new CD with Colin Webster is coming out on New Atlantis Records on October 14th and is already picking up some great reviews....tours to follow! AND(!), the new duo album with Irene Kepl is just having the artwork finished off for a new year release on SLAM Productions,
Had a great time on the recent UK tour with Led Bib....really enjoyed playing with those guys again! Here's a video from the tour, captured at the second night of our three night residency at the Vortex Jazz Club in London. The first night will be broadcast by the BBC in September.
Also, been keeping busy with Blueblut, with a couple of great concerts, most recently at the lovely outdoor pavilion in Drosendorf. We are launching the album, 'Hurts so Gut' in Austria on June 21st at Central Garden in Vienna, and there are rumours that we will be having a special beer brewed for the occasion....not to be missed. The album is coming out everywhere else at the end of September/early October, followed by a European tour at the end of October. You can even pre order the album here!
And in the works(!), Led Bib are touring in Germany and its environs in October, and then a short tour in November in the UK with a stop at London Jazz Festival.
As if that wasn't enough....duo albums galore! A new duo album with Colin Webster is coming out on New Atlantis records in the autumn and the duo album with Irene Kepl is almost finished and will be coming out on SLAM Productions, most likely at the start of 2015.
Some Blueblut action again...we have some actual 'tunes' together I am very excited to be playing them tomorrow at the Porgy & Bess in Vienna as part of Jazz Werkstatt Wien's Room Service festival. Also coming up later in the month we will be playing at the Moozak festival in Fluc, Vienna.
This weekend also starts the process of the next Led Bib studio album recording!! The live album is already being mixed and next year's tours are already being booked...so very much looking forward to it all.
Another outing for Blueblut coming up, a new band with Pamelia Kurstin - theremin and Chris Janka - guitar....and me on drums :) The music is coming along nicely and this time we will be joined by my improv buddy Colin Webster who will be in town and it's all at the lovely Central Garden on the Donau Kanal....it's on Friday 12th of July. And my other improv buddy Irene Kepl was on ORF Jazznacht last weekend and she played some music from a recent duo concert of ours(which will also be released on an upcoming compilation) and some music from the first Lobster gig...you can listen up until next Saturday here. http://oe1.orf.at/programm/342254 . We will also be playing in duo at the Vortex in London on the 31st of July, so I hope to see some of you there....
