This year is just beginning and already we're losing our old school artists I grew up listening to, but the main one that hurt me the most since we lost Frankie Beverly is this Multi talented powerhouse of a musician ( he was the driving force behind the Isley Brothers hits ) R.I.P Mr. Chris Jasper 💔🎵🎵🕊️

Remembering Chris Jasper and Roberto Orci

Here is my combined remembrance of two entertainers we lost:

Remembering Chris Jasper 1951-2025

Multi-instrumentalist and singer Chris Jasper has died at 73. He was a member of The Isley Brothers from 1973-1984. That's him on "That Lady"! He was also a part of the spin-off Isley-Jasper-Isley from 1984-1987.

In 1992, Jasper and The Isley Brothers were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. His passing is only a few years after bandmate Rudolph Isley died in 2023.

Remembering Roberto Orci 1973-2025

Screenwriter / producer Roberto Orci has died at 51. Since the mid-00s he had quite a run as an in-demand screenwriter. After working as a writer on a few seasons of J.J. Abrams' TV show Alias, Orci co-wrote with Abrams on a number of his projects including Mission: Impossible III, and my favorite being the 2009 reboot of Star Trek, which was the best Star Trek movie yet! Orci came back and co-wrote the highly underrated sequel Star Trek Into Darkness as well as and uncredited writing on Star Trek Beyond. He co-wrote a lot of the Transformer movies, some good some bad - but the first one Transformers was pretty fun!
