Words: 1,922 Contains: Domestic Chris, Boyfriend Chris, Fluff.
Chris had sent a text to you early in the morning, waking up to the buzz of your phone on the wooden bedside table. You pick up your phone that dimly illuminated the dark room. The time standing out to you before seeing the text notification. 4am. You open your phone, the lock screen a picture of you and Chris together.
"Hey, beautiful. Just arrived back at the BSAA. I have some things to do before I can come home, I'll be back around lunch time. XXX"
You smile at the text, he liked to put those three X's at the end of most of his texts he sent to you. Starting to type back you yawn and wipe an eye free of the sleepy dust accumulated.
"Alright. Make sure you get some rest😘" You personally enjoyed the cute emojis that just came in.
"What are you doing up? Did I wake you? I didn't mean to."
"It's okay, I woke up not too long ago for some reason, was trying to get back to sleep." You lied, hoping it would make him feel better.
"Okay, See you in a few hours. XXX"
And there were those three X's once again. You smile happily at your phone and turn off the bright screen your eyes had now adjusted to, placing it face up on the side table on your side of the bed once again. You kick your legs under the blankets, exited that your long time boyfriend was coming back home after a week of being away with work. You knew exactly what he did, he had in fact saved you on a mission about 4 years back. He was so caring, wanting to make sure you were alright after the fact, taking you out on a few breakfast runs to get you used to being out around normal people once again. It was then he started to fall for you, and you for him.
Falling back asleep after a little while, trying to get your mind to calm down. Waking up with the sun streaming through your bedroom window at 7:58am you get up and decide to go for a shop. You wanted to make him his favourite meal for when he came home. Showering after you woke up a little more, you get dressed and head out to get the ingredients to make a salmon chowder. It reminded him of home back on his farm in the Arklay Mountains near Raccoon City.
Coming home after having breakfast while you were shopping you start to give the house a small clean, just to make sure it's all clean for when Chris came home. You then started to cook the Salmon Chowder an hour before lunch time. As it was simmering away in the kitchen bot you are sitting at the kitchen table. It was more of a glorified café table, big enough with room to spare for the two of you. Your eyes were pulled from the game you were playing on your phone as you hear the front door being unlocked, and opened.
You feel your heart leap out of your chest when you see Chris walking through the door. Standing up his eyes were immediately drawn to your movement as he closed the door behind him. A smile on his face as you saw just how banged up and bloody he was. Blood covering his clothes where his tactical vest hadn't been covering his torso, his pants covered in blood and grime, and his face. Poor man. He looked like he had been slammed into a wall repeatedly.
"Hey, Beautiful." He greets you as you walk up to him, your brows turned up in worry at the state he was in.
"Hey, handsome... Look at you." You say walking up to stand in front of him. "You look tired." You say reaching up and placing your right hand on his left cheek where most of the damage had been delt. "Have you gotten any sleep at all?"
Chris leans into your touch, his head nodding at your question. "Yeah.. I managed to get an hour of sleep in while in quarantine." He gives a gentle smile.
"Quarantine?" That didn't sound good. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, just a bit banged up. What's that smell? You didn't cook Salmon Stew did you?" He asked smelling the aroma that filled the entire house.
"Yep! Just for you!" You lean forwards to give him a hug but he quickly puts his hands up to place on your shoulders.
"I'm covered in blood, I should have a shower before you hug me."
You pout. "I don't care though, I just want to hug you."
"I know, I want to hug you too." He says starting to take off his boots, picking them up to take into the bathroom with him to clean them of the blood and guts. "I'll be quick. I promise." He smiled and side steps around you at a slight distance.
You turn to face him as he walks around you, standing there with your arms crossed over your chest. A finger tapping your arm as you watch Chris walk down the hallway and turn into the bathroom. You did have an ensuite in your bedroom, but when he would come home all covered in blood like this, he would go to the main bathroom. You decide to check on the salmon chowder and it looked cooked, taking a spoon you try some and hum. Turning off the stove you allow it to sit there with the lid on to keep the warmth as you make your way to the bathroom, opening the door you lean against the threshold. Chris was mid-removing his belt as you had opened the door. His BSAA shirt and black, sleeveless turtleneck removed and draped over the edge of the bath.
Chris gives you a smirk and continues removing the belt from his cargo pants. "Do you mind?"
"Not at all." You bite your bottom lip. You had missed him so much.
"Shouldn't you make sure the chowder doesn't boil over?" He starts to unbutton and unzip his pants. Stepping out of them, tossing them on his shirts.
"Nope.. It's finished, I turned off the stove." You smirk as you watch him walk over to the shower, opening the large glass door to turn the water on and start it running.
"So you're just going to watch me?"
"If I'm allowed to?"
Chris just shakes his head and walks over to you, looking up at him as he looks down to you he pressed his index finger to your shoulder and pushes right on a pressure point. You wince and step back. "Hey!" You say as he closed the door slowly in your face. A big smile on your face as you turn and walk to the lounge room connected to the kitchen and sit down on the lounge. You decide to pass the time by reading a book you had left on the coffee table.
After a good 20 minutes Chris emerged from the bathroom, a towel wrapped around his waist as he carried his clothes to the laundry. Throwing his clothes in a bucket, filling it with cold water and washing powder to let his clothes soak. He then walks to your shared bedroom, getting dressed in some black trackie dacks and a loose, light blue t-shirt.
When he walks back out towards the kitchen to dish himself up some food you were already standing there, holding two bowls filled with the salmon chowder. A butter and cut bread roll soaking in the soup. "Here you go." You smile and walk over placing the bowl in his hand. You watch as he placed the bowl down on the bench beside you both. Taking yours he does the same and then pulls you into his body.
A small squeak leaves your mouth as you didn't expect the sudden pull. Looking up into Chris' eyes he gives you a smile before leaning down to press his lips to yours. You reach your arms up over his neck, feeling his hands on your back hold you tight. Pulling away from the kiss he rests his forehead against yours. "I missed you so much, (Y/N)."
"I missed you too, Chris. I should patch you up after we eat." You say pulling away from his hold. You wanted to stay in his hold but you were hungry, and sure he had to be as well.
"Sounds good." He smiles as he takes his bowl, walking over to the lounge, you following close behind. Sitting side by side you eat your food while watching the tv, nothing was really on. It was just something you had got in the habit with doing while you ate.
After you finished eating you go to take his bowl, but instead he takes yours. "You cooked." He insists as he walks to the sink to wash up. You took this time to fetch the first aid kit from your ensuite bathroom. Walking into your bedroom you place the kit on your bed and search through it, wanting to find an antiseptic cream and patches to cover the cuts and grazes on his face.
Now it was Chris' turn to stand in the threshold, leaning against it as he watched you. His arms crossed in front of his chest as he watches you sort through the kit. How did he land you? He really didn't deserve you at all.
Turning to see him from the corner of your eye, you look at Chris and stand up straight from leaning over the bed and medical supplies. "Sit." You gesture to the bed in front of you.
Pulling away from the wooden frame he was leaning against, he walks over to sit on the edge of the bed in front of you. He smile and press one more kiss to his lips before you start to patch him up. First gently spreading the antiseptic cream on the cuts and grazes before sticking the white patches to his skin where it was needed.
"There.. All done." You say as you start to back up the kit. but before you could even move away from Chris he had pulled you into his body once again. Laying back on the bed, bringing you with him, to lay on his body.
"Can we just sleep now?" He asked as he held your head on his chest, your body relaxing as you slide your hands under his shoulders.
"Sure.. We can sleep, and by we I'll nap and you get a proper sleep." You instruct.
"Good."
"But I need to get everything off the bed first, then we can snuggle in bed."
Chris sighs and lets you go so you can clean up. Putting the rubbish in the bin you then put the kit back where it belongs in your ensuite and walk back into your bedroom. Chris was already under the sheets waiting for you. Sliding in under the blanket you scoot over to meet him in the middle of the bed, he was laying on his back, eyes already closed. You smile and lay against his side, your head resting on his shoulder as you lay your hand on his chest.
"Goodnight..." Chris says as he turns his head to press a kiss to the top of your head, his free hand that wasn't holding your shoulder holds your hand on his chest.
"Sleep well."
And he was out.
