Long Awaited Post - Chris & Shireen’s Wedding
This is definitely a long awaited post! Time flies and now it’s six months after the big day. Marriage life is good when you’re ready for the commitment and know you have to be responsible for your own life and family. Then accept the challenges, don’t take it too hard, pick up fast and learn as we walk through each day.
I’ve never been homesick and I love to be out with friends, attending parties, events, travel for weeks and such. Now that I’m not staying with my parents, for the first time, I’m actually homesick and missing them more! I’m blessed to have happy parents, and always pray for God’s protection and blessing on them both! #ThankGodForGreatParents
I would say, it’s a bonus blessing from God to have great relatives. Here are my lovely Auntie Yvonne and GuMa! Auntie Yvonne has always given pastoral care to my mum and our family in times of need, I’m very proud of an auntie like her in my life. I’ve never really mention, but she’s pretty much a woman I look up to in my growing years. GuMa is a hairstylist and she is always looking youthful and lively. :)
It’s a blessing to give than to receive. It’s a practice I’ve seen in my family to bless with the little they have. It doesn’t have to be much or in material form. It can be a listening ear, the presence or even a smile. My parents saved up and my Dad worked many nights of OT for these gifts to me and Chris from SK Jewellery. We very much deeply appreciate it. #FamilyHeirloom
My sparkling 10cm high heels and Chris’s white pair of shoes were from Sinderella. The photos probably doesn’t justify the sparkles but in real life, it is! The heels are really comfortable too.
Oh yea, my room is in hot pink, with few drawings on fashion quotes and I love it so so much! Now that my sister, Elene re-painted my room with plain-o-boring white.
Here are my ladies - some good friends since 10 years old, preparing for the gatecrashing.
Such passionate kiss!
Chris so happy giving wine and oranges you can hardly see his eyes... -__-|||
Traditional tea ceremony in the form of respect with the family and relatives.
I think it’s through the wedding my family got to know a little more about Chris’s brother, Kevin. One of the hottest topic, they don’t look alike and obviously he has got the better genes. LOL. My family, relatives and friends are probably the group that are noisier, enjoy having fun over wine/beer and totally laugh out loud, very different from Chris’s introvert personality. And I’m glad Kevin can still survive through.
And off we go to the hotel for more photoshoot in the car limousine from Lotus Limo). It might seems like a splurge on this luxury ride, but let me tell you, it’s one of the most reasonable and best decision made.
I honestly didn’t like it when my groomsmen, bridesmaids, parents and friends woke up such early in the morning to help and had to spend their money on cab to travel from our house to the hotel. My family doesn’t own a car, so if I were to get a bridal car that cost $600-$800, why not top up alittle more so that everybody can fit in, enjoy the ride, cool down have a drink, recharge while on the way to the hotel. The limousine can sit up to 8, excluding the front seat. A chauffeur is included and that saves us the trouble while we truly enjoy the ride. The limousine first drove the groomsmen to the hotel, the second round trip the bridesmaids, my family, the photographer, Chris and me! The car can go as many rounds as we want within the booking hours, so we fully make good use of it!
Those planning for your wedding, check out Lotus Limousine for their rates. Sometimes, they’ll have discounts at wedding showcase.
Our wedding gowns and suits were from La Belle Couture. My sisters’ gowns, my dad’s suit, the red roses with pearls boutique and the car decorations, were all from La Belle Couture! The cute lady, May, she has been assisting me throughout the 6 months from selecting the dresses to fitting and many other changes. Our wedding albums are from La Belle Couture too! The photographer, Kenny is such a profession and makes the outdoor shoot a smooth and easy experience! We were perspiring but were all happy!
One suggestion I would give to all brides, is to choose and fit the gown you desire in the studio, make sure it’s available on your wedding day before making the decision to pay! ;)
I cannot emphasize how much I love my bridesmaids and the efforts the groomsmen put in. I can see from their faces how tired they were and their expressions saying “is the photoshoot done already not?”, “so hot”, “soo long...”.
We took some photoshoot at our wedding hotel - Shangri La Rasa Sentosa. How can we miss out the beautiful waterfall and nice view. Throughout the planning with Shangri La Rasa Sentosa, there were some hiccups and screwups with the contracts and details. Our venue and names were all wrong!! Of course the impatient me, especially nearing to the date, boils me up. Thankfully on the actual day, the hotel wedding in-charge, Keryn was there. I was honestly surprised to see her ushering me upon my arrival and being there throughout. Even guiding me how I should walk-in looking glamorous during the Matrimony. You saved the day ah Shangri La Rasa Sentosa!
My two awesome wedding planners, Carinna & Shella got the flowers! #happylikeabird Knowing Carinna & Shella is one of the best thing in my life. Planning a wedding is huge and takes up a lot of time and effort. When Carinna volunteers to coordinate and plan everything, knowing that I’m rather picky/demanding, kudos to such an awesome friend! Shella’s consistent followup with all the matrimony stuff that turns out really well, makes me really happy! #loveboth
The bridesmaids’ dresses were done by MGP LABEL! I’m so so so thankful to Eeling and Keith. It was a 6 months of planning and manufacturing of different sizes and designs. I’ve asked a few popular online stores even those that did bridesmaids collection before. None of them were as efficient or have excellent service as MGP LABEL. Keith gave his word, and his words were truly his bond, he made the dresses on time, the material was soft and comfortable! If you noticed, the bridesmaids wearing shorter dresses love to showoff their slim legs, and those in maxi tiffany dresses showoff their sexier shoulders that flatter their feminine side.
I felt bowtie made one look more youthful like a gentleman. So decided to throw aside the traditional tie and style the men (my dad, Chris & JoonHoe) in Rezilienz‘s Swaroskvi bowtie! Yaowen sure made it sparkles! :)
Getting ready for the matrimony. Tiffany has a lovely voice and I’m happy my singer is so pretty!
My dad is just funny. He smiles when he signs. It must be the feather, he thought he’s doing calligraphy. Another side of my dad, he randomly learn magic so he can show and give people a good laugh.
While planning for the wedding, the guests are always on my mind, like... will they be waiting for too long, will they be hungry, is the food enough for them... etc. Knowing that there will be kids around, worries me more, so I wanted to get the candy buffet!
JoAndJars did for awesome events like Chanel, DKNY etc, hence decided to put my big day into their hands to make the little ones happy! A package consist of 5 and more varieties of candies of your choice! Customized packaging are included for guest takeaways too! #BringHomeSomeHappiness
Lovely ladies: Josie, Amber and my princess sister, Jolene!
Kewei was really thoughtful and planned songs for my wedding. It amazes me when she offered to learn new Bahasa songs that she had never sang before. It’s another level what Sparkle Live Music can offer. No wonder they are so well known not just because of their beautiful vocals, but also their services which exceeds others. I picked a few Bahasa songs with the help of my Indonesia friends, crossfinger.. hopefully it’s a meaning song!
Above, my 2 awesome Emcees for the night. Michelle wore a black gown, my first time seeing her in such classy dress which she usually don’t wear, she said. hahas... such wonderful lady.
My little sister, Elene has been awesome. She is like the little me. :)
Carinna helped me engaged TheDryBox, a photobooth of fun to keep the guest occupied while waiting! Unlimited photos and fun, why not! :D
Throughout the wedding planning was a tedious but happy journey. Without the love of family and friends, I don’t think it’s possible for all to happen. Thank you all for your love, I’ll always keep that in my heart and mind! :D

W.Preparation
As days draw nearer, I can now feel the stress for our wedding preparation. The mix feelings of excitement, nervousness, joy and tension. I've to always remind myself that it should be a relax journey from planning to executing and to the final day.
There are many things I would definitely want for a perfect wedding, but of course, I can't have it all. Things have to be practical and within our budget, within our means. I'm thankful so far for the blessings. I'm thankful for some of my supportive, enthusiastic and helpful friends and especially my sister, Elene.
I know I'm gonna have a list of stuff to mention and the lovely people I'm thankful for, although I've not shown much yet. It's still like 6 more months and I'm already kinda freaking out. LOL From the bottom of my heart, if not for these nice people, I might not know what to do. Thank you for your willing initiatives. *loves* :)
More to come, but I just have to express my heartfelt gratitude. :)
