Today, we celebrate the feast of the St. Jean Vianney, the patron of priests of the diocesan and religious. All the priests and clergy of the Diocese of Dumaguete gathered together to celebrate the Chrism Mass and renew their commitment to their priestly service. In his homily, Bishop Julito Cortes reiterated that today's celebration calls not only for recalling priests’ own appointment by the Lord to their anointing but also to renew the commitment to their service. He highlighted the fact that every priest’s obligation must be prophetic in proclaiming the Good News of the Kingdom of God and should not be swayed by the crisis that we are facing. Despite being wounded and stricken by uncertainties and poverty, their poverty as priests and pastors of parishes should not be a hindrance in serving others in greater need. This is possible if our faith in the Lord who made things possible is stronger, thus, we can withstand all trials whether physical, material or spiritual. He reminded everyone that life is a grace from the Lord and serving others is part of such grace. All of us are challenged to grab every opportunity to serve others because as children of God as we are entitled to be servants here on earth. #CFCNegrosOriental #CalledtoHoliness #DioceseofDumaguete #ChrismMass https://www.instagram.com/p/CDdXgAOpshh/?igshid=1d7pbglcm027t
