Anna's feelings toward Chris were so confusing to her. She could tell she was really starting to like him, but it was just too much for her to take in. She felt as though it wouldn't be safe or okay for her to like him. After losing her husband, she had sworn to herself that she'd still carry on loving him and him alone. She also didn't want to risk another heartbreak. Well, not an unnecessary one. Her heart already seems to break everyday when she realizes she's still here.
However, after kissing him on New Years, she figured it at least wouldn't hurt to go on one date with him. She began making her way down to the lobby where she had agreed on meeting him. She nervously bit her lip when she saw him standing in the middle of the room. She gave him a small smile. He was so tall compared to her, and it caused her to laugh a little. "Hi," she said quietly, walking up to stand right in front of him.
