What a great day for Chris Evans and MCU. Kinda suck to be Mackie these days. Everyone love this news. I struggle to find few who loved the idea. Even Evans fans. Just a lot of racist haters but that's nothing to brag about.

We’re In Public // Christopher Velez
Hola mis amores! This is my entry for the writing challenge put on by the amazing @cloudfiveclub <3 I am so sorry this is so late baby! I hope you all enjoy this
Warnings: Extremely angsty. I kind of teared up writing this.
Word Count: ~950
You sat there, glaring at Chris as he shamelessly flirted with the petite brunette currently sat on his lap. They were practically glued to each other, faces as close as they could be without kissing, but by the end of the night you knew that that small gap would close. Normally you wouldn't even think twice about his fuck boy behavior, but tonight of all nights? You couldn't stand it.
It was his idea to go out. After a long few months of touring, Chris had called you up and told you he was going to be in Miami, and that he wanted to spend time with his best friend. Of course, you jumped at the opportunity. Ever since you had met Chris when you started working at Sony Music Latin two years ago, you had slowly been falling in love with a man you could never have. You would always take any and every chance to be with him.
Of course, though, he was pulling the same shit he usually does tonight. how could he be so dense and selfish? It was his idea to go out clubbing. He had promised tonight was just about hanging out and catching up with you, getting to dance around together like you used to. But no more than ten minutes into the night he already had some hussy wrapped around his finger.
Deciding you had had enough, you stood up and made your way to the couch where Chris and the brunette were lounging.
"Chris," You said, barely managing your anger. "We need to talk,"
Chris was so caught up in his conversation that he hadn't seen you approach. He looked up, confused. "Right now? Can't it, uh, wait?"
"Yeah, we're kind of busy," The brunette sneered. "If you have something to say, then say it, doll face,"
What little restraint you had was suddenly gone. "Okay, fine. You know what? Enjoy your night, Chris. Actually, no, enjoy your life, because I am no longer going to be a part of it. What was all of that crap you gave me about how tonight was going to be about hanging out and catching up? If you honestly think that I am going to sit here and watch you get cozy with some girl whose name you won't even remember in the morning, then you are dead wrong. I am tired of being the only one in this friendship that cares!"
You hadn't even noticed you were yelling until you paused to catch your breath. Both Chris and the girl were staring at you with wide eyes.
Snapping out of his daze, Chris gently pushed the girl off his lap before standing up and grabbing your arms lightly. "Y/N, please lower your voice. We're in public," He said, lowering his own voice as if to demonstrate.
you weren't listening though. All you could see was his beautiful brown eyes, and the way that his lips formed his words delicately when he talked. All you could see was a man you could never, would never, have. And it burned. It burned to know that even as his best friend you would never be enough for him.
"I-" you stuttered. you had to leave. "Chris, I have to go. I can't be here anymore," you said, pulling your arms from his grip as tears threatened to race down your cheeks.
It wasn't hard to see the panic that set in his eyes when you backed away from him. He made a grab for you again, but you were determined. Dodging his touch, you turned to rush through the sweaty, pulsing bodies and out the door before you could change your mind.
"Y/N, amor, please! Lets go somewhere private and talk about this," His words stopped your movement for a split second. You wanted so badly to turn around and rush into his arms when he called you 'amor', a name he rarely used on you. But then that was the point, wasn't it?
You turned your head to look at him. "I can't," You whispered, barely audible over the pounding bass. "I can't keep giving you all of me and getting nothing in return, Chris. You always say that I'm important until someone who suits your present needs better comes along. I won't do it any more. I love you, but I have to go,"
His eyes widened at the three words you hadn't meant to let slip past your lips. "Y-You love me? Y/N-"
You didn't wait to hear what he would say. He couldn't possibly say anything that would change the way your heart was breaking. Ignoring his shouts, you pushed through the grinding bodies, running out the door and into the cold night.
Only after you had flagged down a cab did you let the tears fall. How could you have let that slip? You were certain that you could never see him again, that he would never want to. Who wants to be friends with someone who is hopelessly in love with them?
Sliding into the backseat, you looked out the window, just in time to see Chris bust through the door and stop, watching as your taxi drove away. And maybe it was the trick of the city lights, but you thought, you could have almost swore, that you saw tears trailing down his cheeks in an act of heartbreak that mirrored your own.
I think people turned their back on him not because of her but because this make them see who he really is. His fangirls always protected him no matter what he did. Buried a lot of stuff for him. Stepping out with her took them by surprise and they let his past to be bring up. They didn't try to help him hide it anymore. His power was always his fandom. This relationship and his behavior make people see he never was Steve Rogers like they thought. That he was lying all this time. So the best thing he could do was to hide and only show his face when he really need to. Just like you said. So people forget. So many people out there doesn't even know he is married. His socials looks like he just opened the account last week. Alba actually did everyone a favor and help the world see who he really is.
She is his endgame for real. It's what he deserves.
Little switcheroo. Nobody will notice.
Same colors but reversed. Different year. Same after party. Same cringe.
Happy New Year everyone!
May 2026 bring us more of this cringe.
Gen Z also has a “tradwife” leaning subsection where she fits. So yes, the irony of a millionaire 40+ yo talking about why a particular generation is broke while his own partner is Gen Z benefiting from his fame is NOT a good look at all. But I believe this man mentally checked out of everything long back. He’s essentially a robot just parroting what’s been told or fed into his system. I don’t even know him anymore 🤣
Yeah. He keep repeating himself. All the trained phrases etc. 😂 When he is faced with new question he struggles to answer it so he spin around it using big words to make it looks like an eloquent answer. But it's just words smashed together.
